On Wednesday, October 5, the Disneyland Resort brought some very special magic to CHOC Children’s Hospital in Orange, California, as part of the annual CHOC Minnie Walk. Minnie Mouse greeted more than 175 patients and their families with a hug and a photo on the hospital’s Disneyland Resort Family Lobby before they made their way through a special walk that was filled with fun and surprises thanks to the almost 30 walk sponsors in attendance. The CHOC Minnie Walk brings the magic of the CHOC Walk in the Park presented by the Disneyland Resort, an annual fundraising event at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park open, to the patients at CHOC—many of whom directly benefit from the funds raised at the walk each year.
Minnie Mouse was especially adorable in her Halloween dress and hat – marking the first time she has ever worn this adorable costume in the United States.
To date, the CHOC Walk in the Park has raised $26 million and attracts over 15,000 participants each year. The CHOC Walk is CHOC Children’s biggest fundraiser, and is the largest and most unique pediatric fundraiser in the United States. Funds raised through the CHOC Walk benefit the hospital’s KidsCare Fund. This special fund supports the programs and services in the greatest need—from mental health services to an expanded neonatal intensive care unit to providing healthcare services for children and families who cannot afford to pay.
It’s easy to register and be part of the magic that makes a difference for children. Walkers can register to attend the walk as a “Fundraising Bear” or register as a “Sleeping Bear” to raise money and sleep in the morning of the walk. Either way, CHOC Walk participants can earn amazing prizes like Disneyland Resort park-hopper tickets, free products and services, and much more. Learn more at http://www.chocwalk.org.
