We’ve said it many times before and we’ll say it again: there’s no place like the Disneyland Resort at holiday time. While fun and merriment abound, we think it is particularly special to enjoy holiday time with wee ones at the Resort. Here are our five favorite holiday activities for toddlers and preschoolers for the 2017 holiday season at the Disneyland Resort.
Toddler & Preschooler Holiday Activities in Disneyland Park
Watch A Christmas Fantasy Parade
There is NOTHING like the delight in a child’s eyes when they watch the parade. It is full of every character imaginable, toy solders, reindeer and even Santa Claus!
Visit Santa
Head to Critter Country for a two-for-one photo opp with Winnie the Pooh AND Santa. (During his honey breaks, Winnie the Pooh may have Tigger or another friend take photos with guests.)
Experience “it’s a small world” holiday
Just like A Christmas Fantasy parade, your kiddos eyes will light up with amazement and they’ll probably ask to do it again… and again… and again.
Grab Lunch at the Golden Horseshoe and Catch the Holiday Show
The Golden Horseshoe has a limited menu with chicken nuggets, fish and chips (fries), ice cream sundaes, cookies, chili and chili fries and kids’ meals, including the kids’ power packs. If you want a little more to choose from, you can grab a corndog from the Stage Door Cafe next door or get something from the great menu over at Rancho del Zocalo. Be sure to check showtimes in order to plan your meal just right.

Craft & Color at Festival of Holidays
Mom and Dad can grab a tasty bite to eat (or a special drink) while little ones get creative at the tables set out throughout the festival area.
Experience Mater’s Jingle Jamboree and Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl
Who doesn’t love holiday attraction overlays? We LOVE them and these two in Cars Land are awesome and lots of holiday fun. Keep in mind that they both have height requirements, so be sure to click here and make sure your kiddo is tall enough before making any promises!
Toddle and Roam in Redwood Creek Challenge Trail & Visit Santa:
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail has been my kids’ favorite destination since they were wee ones. The play area gets a special holiday overlay for the Christmas season. Kiddos can even meet with Santa!

Princess Elena’s Musical Grand Arrival:
If your kiddo loves Elena of Avalor on Disney Junior, they will love this special, lively show! Be sure to check the entertainment schedule for showtimes.
View the Viva Navidad parade:
Also a lot of fun, this parade brings guests of all ages into the fun and gets little ones dancing. Again, be “in the know” and check the entertainment schedule.
Toddler & Preschooler Holiday Activities in Both Parks:
Select a Special Sweet Treat or Keepsake:
I’ll admit that perhaps I shop at Disneyland a little too much. I’m a sucker for special treats and souvenirs to commemorate our time with the kids at the Resort. We love special ornaments and I’m fan of delighting my kids with sweet treats.
Take Photos with Characters in Their Holiday Best:
Take pics with the characters is great. Taking pics with them in their holiday best: even better!
Take Family Holiday Photos:
Honestly, there’s no better place to take that annual family holiday pic than at the Disneyland Resort. Whether you get creative or go traditional, you can’t go wrong with a family picture at the Resort. Click here to check out some of our favorite spots inside Disneyland.
