Planning a Walt Disney World vacation can be as stressful and exciting as the trip itself. Between picking the right resorts to deciding which parks to visit on which days it can get downright stressful. Then there’s the packing. Oh, the packing! When you throw the wants and needs of everyone in the family into the mix, putting together your family’s ideal (and that’s ideal, not perfect) trip can be tough.
When it comes to Walt Disney World planning, most families start planning a good six months ahead of time. They begin looking at lodging and dining options and begin coordinating travel arrangements. As for me, I was invited to the Disney Social Media Moms conference, an invitation-only conference in which my family and I could attend the Walt Disney World Resort for a discounted rate. As soon as I got the invitation, I went into planning mode with only two months to plan, book and get working on what most vacationers spend significantly more time on. We knew that we wanted to stay at the resort beyond the conference and immediately began working with our travel agent Randy Crane on what resort options would be best for us and my parents who would be meeting us in Walt Disney World.

If you’ve never booked a Walt Disney World vacation, I highly recommend a travel agent. I swear I must have driven Randy nuts with a barrage of emails, phone calls and texts with insane questions and price quote requests. We changed our minds on where we wanted to stay half a dozen time and asked Randy to make a number of specific requests on our behalf. He handled all of my lunacy with patience and grace, and for that I could not be more thankful.
I’m back from the trip now and I have so much to report! I will fill you in on everything I can over the next few weeks–from the packing to picking the right resort to what I experienced at the conference to the blow-by-blow action of our seven days of pixie dust and magic. I’ll be perfectly honest, traveling with three children (one of them being a very feisty three-year-old) can be trying…very trying. In the end our trip was filled with a lot of very special moments that I will not soon forget.
So, until I can bring you all of the details of the trip, here is a video with the highlights of our family’s trip and attempts to slow down and live life in the moment.
Stay tuned for much, much more on our Walt Disney World trip.
