Located in the former Carnation Plaza Gardens, Fantasy Faire is an extension of Fantasyland and is themed to blend in with the colors, theming and architecture of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Fantasy Faire is essentially “princess central.”
The new Fantasy Faire features:
A princess meet and greet, the Royal Hall, allows guests to queue up to meet three different princesses. The hall will typically feature Cinderella, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), and Ariel. Each meeting area is secluded and intimate and a perfect place for one on one time. (Be sure you have a flash on your camera, because the rooms are dark.)
A store called, Fairytale Treasures. This small boutique sells princess dresses, accessories and souvenirs.
Two fun shows at the Royal Theatre. Both shows, the tales of Rapunzel (“Tangled”) and Belle (“Beauty and the Beast”) are presented by Mr. Smythe and Mr. Jones, a pair of vaudeville-style Renaissance storytellers. The princess heroine, Rapunzel or Belle, will join in the fun and remain with the audience to greet guests following the conclusion of the story. Guests can enjoy three shows daily of each story and while you may think their just for kids, there is plenty of humor that had adults laughing in the audience.
Fantasy Faire is home to Maurice’s treats which will quickly become known for its delicious bread twists in three mouth-watering
flavors – cheddar cheese garlic, chocolate and strawberry almond cream flavors. The cheddar cheese garlic twist is my new favorite snack at Disneyland. Maurice’s treats features a new signature beverage, the Boysen Apple Freeze. This frozen drink is 100% apple juice with natural berry flavoring and a nondairy mango foam on top. This delicious drink can be purchased in a generous cup or souvenir cup and is a really great alternative to a soda.
Other details:
Although Fantasy Faire is a small area, it is full of lots of really fun and beautiful details that bring Disney fairy tales to life:
Geppetto’s cat Figaro dozing (and occasionally waking) on a window sill. My son spent a good five minutes yelling up to Figaro and the bird and it was so incredibly precious!
Clopin’s Music Box is a fascinating, interactive mechanical toy representing the Feast of Fools from “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.” This is another feature of this area I could hardly get my three-year-old to pull himself away from.
In Fantasy Faire’s “village square” guests can see Tangled Tower, a magical sculpture inspired by the story of Rapunzel. After dark, Rapunzel’s hair, twisting around the tower sculpture, comes to life with twinkling lights. It is certain to become a favorite spot for pictures during the day and at night.
Disneyland’s Fantasy Faire is a great place to relax, unwind, catch a show, and even meet some of your favorite Disney princesses!
