The CHOC Walk is around the corner! On October 17, people from throughout southern California will be participating in the CHOC Walk in the park–a 5K walk through Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure to benefit the amazing work done at CHOC (Children’s Hospital of Orange County). CHOC serves thousands of children each year…very, very sick children…even if their parents cannot afford the care the children need. It is comforting to know that CHOC is there for all of us in the event that our children become ill.My three boys and I will be walking at the CHOC Walk, as...

Back on August 23, I posted about this year’s Halloween private-party celebration, Mickey’s Halloween Party. Moving to Disneyland this year with a new name, Mickey’s Halloween Party is the separate-ticket event that invites adults and children to dress up in costume and trick-or-treat at the resort. This nighttime celebration is scheduled for Tuesdays and Fridays in October (1, 5, 8, 12, 15, 19, 22, 26 and 29) plus Halloween night itself, Sunday, Oct. 31. Guests will have the opportunity to arrive three hours before the party starts to play in Disneyland. Once the party starts, guests will be...
I spent last weekend at the Disneyland Resort. On Saturday, I was part of a VIP tour of the resort with the other two thirds of the Three Disneyland Moms, Marcy Massura and Suzanne Broughton. Along with their lovely families, we toured Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure. In the past, I’ve made no secret of the fact that I love Disneyland in the fall. From the 300 decorated pumpkins on Main Street to the orange, yellow, and rust-colored mums in the flower beds, the park is aglow with the warm colors of autumn. In my post last week about...

The Disneyland Resort will be unveiling all of its Halloween decorations and entertainment on September 17. I will be attending a special event at the park on the 18th and will have loads of pictures to share with you next week. In the meantime, I’ve assembled some of the details of this year’s festivities. First and foremost, the décor during this time of year is outstanding. Main Street is transformed for the Pumpkin Festival with more than 300 pumpkins creatively carved and on display in shop windows. Over at Big Thunder Ranch in Frontierland, guests will find ranch animals,...

Mickey’s Halloween Party Announcement
August 23, 2010 in All Posts, disneyland, disneyland resort, halloween, holidays, vacation planning
It may only be August, but Mickey and his friends at the Disneyland Resort have already been thinking up an exciting new Halloween adventure for families and this year’s Halloween event tops all others from the past. The resort’s separate ticket, private party event has been renamed “Mickey’s Halloween Party” and will now be held at Disneyland, not Disney’s California Adventure as in the past. Party guests–young and old–can dress in costume and enjoy Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy and Haunted Mansion Holiday. Other highlights include: Image from Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy “Mickey’s Hide and Go Treat Trails” throughout Disneyland...
