This past week, the Walt Disney Family Museum announced the launch of several virtual offerings to make their galleries more accessible. Since the museum is currently closed right now, we are excited to see the launch of the Walt Disney Family Museum mobile app, which you can download for free.
According to the official release, the new mobile is was designed “both for guests visiting The Walt Disney Family Museum in person and for the public to enjoy from the comfort of their homes or anywhere else.”
The Walt Disney Family Museum has also developed an immersive, on-demand Virtual Tour & Museum Highlights feature, which benefits from a wide range of embedded digital media content, including exclusive archived audio clips from a 1956 interview with Walt. The Virtual Tour brings Walt’s life directly to people’s homes. Narrated by voiceover artists and producing partners Camille Dixon and Bill Rogers, who are well-known for their contributions to commercial broadcasts and theme parks, the VirtualTour will be offered free to the public on the museum’s website and the WDFM app for a limited time.
Guests can explore the galleries at their own pace while learning unique facts about the life and times of Walt Disney. For those visiting the galleries in person, the app incorporates tours in 12 languages, including American Sign Language, as well as other enhanced accessibility features such as the Audio Described Tour for guests with low-vision or blindness.
To download the WDFM mobile app for Apple and Android devices, search for “WDFM” or click the links to download directly from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

I’m kind of surprised they didn’t launch an app sooner
