Trolley Treats is the Disneyland Resort’s new candy shop and is located along the new Buena Vista Steet in the newly reimagined Disney California Adventure park. Offering both pre-packaged and fresh-made treats, Trolley Treats delivers the goods and has something for every sweet tooth.
Taking a cue from its Disneyland cousin the Candy Palace, Trolley Treats features a large demonstration kitchen so that guests can watch Disney’s famous candy makers create delicious treats right in front of their eyes. I recently had the opportunity to step inside the Trolley Treats candy kitchen and it was an experience I will not soon forget. Upon entering the kitchen the smell of sweet sugar mixed with vanilla is beyond intoxicating and difficult to put into words. It is by and large the best smelled ever. Once inside I was amazed at the how it incorporated the simple charm of a 1920s kitchen with the needs of Disney’s modern day candy artists. Inside the kitchen, candy makers make hand-pulled taffy, gourmet marshmallows and more. Check out this video for more on what is made inside the candy kitchen at Trolley Treats.
While the candy and treats inside Trolley Treats are big draws, don’t forget to check out the shop’s eye-catching window display–the Rocky Candy Mountain. The mountain located in the window in front of Trolley Treats is modeled after an actual attraction that was designed for Disneyland park but never built. Rock Candy Mountain was designed by imagineer Claude Coats in 1957 and was originally planned to be part of the Storybook Land Canal Boats with the Casey Jr. Circus Train traveling around it.
