It’s going to be a fun-filled summer in 2017 as the Disneyland Resort unveils a new summer celebration with the launch of Guardians of the Galaxy-Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney California Adventure Park. Mark your calendars for May 27th, and join legendary Super Heroes in brand new experiences for the start of the Summer of Heroes!
The Marvel and Superhero fans in your family are going to flip for this out-of-this-world summer celebration.
From May 27 through September 10th, Disney California Adventure park will begin introducing an ever-expanding universe of Super Hero stories that will only get bigger over time. Hollywood Land will become home to some of your family’s favorite Super Heroes, such as Star-Lord, Black Widow, Spider-Man, Hawkeye or Captain America. For the first time ever, guests will also get the chance to have a face-to-face encounter with Groot! We caught a sneak peek of the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction during a recent visit:
Summer of Heroes’ new, year-round experiences include:
- Guardians of the Galaxy–Mission: BREAKOUT! – featuring the film’s popular soundtrack, this new adventure blasts guests straight into the “Guardians of the Galaxy” universe. Guests will join Rocket in his attempt to bust his pals out of the Collector’s Fortress and experience randomized ride experiences complete with all-new visual and audio effects.
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! – Star-Lord will fire up his old-school boom box to get a party started. A great way to burn a little extra energy with the little ones, show off your dance moves during this awesome rock ‘n’ roll bash!
- Super Hero Encounters – For the first time, guests will come face-to-face with tree-of-few-words Groot, one of the Guardians of the Galaxy! They may also encounter the First Avenger, Captain America, and everyone’s favorite web slinger, your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
For a limited time, guests also will discover these exclusive activities for Summer of Heroes:
- Avengers Training Initiative – Are you good enough to be part of the Avengers? Black Widow and Hawkeye assemble young recruits for a series of tests to see if they have what it takes!
- Heroic Encounter: Black Widow – Black Widow will arrive on the scene several times throughout the day in an armored Avengers vehicle for her heroic encounter with park guests.
- Grab a Piece (or Bite) of the Action – Special themed merchandise and food will be available throughout Hollywood Land (one of our favorite things to see here at Babes in Disneyland!)
