For any Disneyland lover and mama-to-be, there’s endless inspiration to pull from for a Disney-themed baby shower theme, ranging from Disney Princesses, Mickey & Minnie, and even the Parks themselves!
As I am welcoming a baby boy in the next few weeks, editor extraordinaire Lisa and my fellow blog contributor Kendra decided to throw me the most adorable Peter Pan-themed baby shower. It goes without saying that Peter Pan’s Flight in Disneyland is one of my favorite Fantasyland rides – not because I think it’s the greatest attraction ever built but because it’s whimsical and magical and there’s something fun about a dark ride that makes you feel like you’re flying. Since my nursery theme is based around storybooks and we’re welcoming a little “Lost Boy”, this theme was the perfect fit and today’s post is a photo tour of the incredible details of this event!
Peter Pan Garlands and Signage
When I arrived at the shower, I was greeted with this “Welcome to Neverland” sign and a wonderful “Never Grow Up” garland.
Shout-out to Babes in Disneyland contributor Jessica, who designed the “Never Grow Up” garlands that were used throughout the shower. If you want to plan your own Peter Pan-themed baby shower, we will have even more details plus free printables in another blog post next week!
Peter Pan Baby Shower Decor
There were so many small details strewn around Lisa’s beautiful home, which served as the backdrop of the baby shower. She was able to use her collection of vintage Disney items and create a few new pieces to bring the theming to life. From small Peter Pan figurines, hidden pirate ships in all of her lanterns, to her dress form Tinkerbell (she made it!) and the Neverland themed mantle featuring Peter Pan-themed items, this shower lived up to its theme! (Again, more details in next week’s detailed post.)
The Peter Pan Guestbook
Kendra found this beautiful Peter Pan hardcover book and asked all the guests sign the book with this “Think a Happy Thought” chalkboard sign! There are beautiful interactive elements throughout the pages that illustrate J.M. Barrie’s original play/story about the boy who never grew up. You can get your hands on this book at this link: Peter Pan (Illustrated with Interactive Elements)
Peter Pan Diaper Cake
A simple yet effective Peter Pan diaper cake.
Peter Pan Cookie Party Favors
As the parting gift for all of the guests, Lisa and Kendra set out an adorable set of cookies that were created by @sweetcreations_steph, featuring Peter Pan, Tinkerbell’s dress, a buried treasure map, and the Jolly Roger pirate ship. Everyone had a choice of what they wanted to take home and the buried treasure map was certainly the front runner! The platter was accompanied with a sign that said “All you need is Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust…and Cookies!”
Disney-themed Gifts
The shower wasn’t the only thing that had a Disney theme – many of the gifts I received were also Disney or Disneyland-themed! We were gifted with many fantastic Disney books for our baby’s nursery and library, such as this Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Everyone Loves Mickey board book:
There are so many different types of Disney baby books that I received, ranging from “100 First Words Lift-the-Flap” (illustrated by one of our fav artists, Jerrod Maruama), “What Was Walt Disney?” and “5 Minute Disney/Pixar Stories”.
I also got some Disneyland-themed items, such as this adorable onesie (thanks to Mindy from This Fairytale Life!) You can find this at the Disneyland Resort and at the World of Disney store at Downtown Disney!
I loved all the special details of my Peter Pan-themed baby shower and hope this gives you some inspiration on how to bring the Disney/Disneyland magic to your celebration!
If you want to incorporate some of these elements into your own Neverland-inspired baby shower, such as making the bunting or the Peter Pan hat for the diaper cake, make sure to check out Lisa’s How to Throw a Neverland / Peter Pan baby shower post next week which will feature all the instructions you need!
