Monday Must Have: Maclaren Twin Triumph Stroller

November 29, 2010 in All Posts, babies & toddlers, favorite products, review by Lisa Robertson

For today’s Monday Must Have, I am happy to share with you the Twin Triumph stroller by Maclaren.  Maclaren was kind enough to supply me with this lean, green strolling machine for the CHOC Walk so that I wouldn’t have to push my monsterous Sit n’ Stand for 3.2 miles.  What a blessing!

What makes this product great?
Pushing one kid is tough enough, but pushing two kids is downright exhausting.  The baby weighs about 17 pounds and my middle son weighs about 32 pounds.  Pushing almost 50 pounds of anything around is tough, and quite frankly at this stage of the game, I am really looking for comfort and ease of use when it comes to a double stroller.  In the past, my double stroller has been worn me out, but the Twin Triumph is much, much lighter and is very easy to maneuver.

Best of all, purchasing a Maclaren stroller means investing in a stroller that will last for years.  Maclaren is a premiere British brand known for high-quality products.  The Twin Triumph retails around $250 and can be purchased with FREE shipping at Amazon.com by clicking here.

Why is the Volo by Maclaren great for trips to Disneyland?

The Twin Triumph made walking the
3.2-mile CHOC Walk a breeze.
  • This stroller folds down incredibly small given it is a double stroller that reclines and has storage.  It takes up very little room in my car.
  • This stroller easily accommodates children of a variety of sizes.  The straps are very easy to adjust and because it reclines, it can accommodate sleeping children.
  • Although this stroller does not have a parent or child tray for drinks or snacks, it does have a decent amount of storage for a lightweight stroller.  It has enough room for a small diaper bag under one of the seats and room for bag for food or jackets under the other.  Plus, there are storage pouches behind each seat for keys, bottles of water, etc.
  • It has a water resistant hood and rain cover for those unexpected California rain showers.  Nothing can derail a trip to Disneyland faster than rain!
  • Perhaps, one of my favorite aspects of the stroller is the fact that its seats are washable.
  • I love the “racing green” fabric, as it is really easy to spot in a sea of buggies at Disneyland.  (The stroller also comes in coffee, charcoal, and scarlet.)
Below is a video review of the stroller.
The Twin Triumph has been a champ on
trips to the Disneyland Resort.  Plenty of
storage and comfy for the kids!

Were there any drawbacks?
Perhaps the only drawback is that there isn’t anywhere to put my coffee, but that’s a trade off one has to deal with when dealing with lightweight strollers.  Cup holders and convenience trays go hand in hand with large strollers and at this stage of the game, this tired mama needs the comfort of a lightweight stroller over the conveniences of a giant stroller.  If you are looking for a sturdy double stroller that won’t break your back and your kids will love, you will not be disappointed.

This was not a paid post and honest opinions were used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. Thank you to Maclaren who supplied me with the Volo stroller
for this review.

My two weigh 70lbs total and my stroller weighs 40 (empty). The hardest part of my whole day is folding it up and carrying the stroller, a kid and bags onto the parking lot shuttle. Looks like you got a great double stroller! How do you carry it all onto the tram?

Hi Mary! I put the baby in the Baby Bjorn and then the tram cast member helps me on the tram with the stroller. I never fold my stroller to actually get on the tram because I have so much stuff and it’s all packed under the stroller.

Hi! I am expecting Baby2 soon and researching our double stroller. I have a single Maclaren Volo and love it for the real world and Walt Disney World. Of course, I am looking at the Maclaren Twin models. The Techno has just a few more features than the Triumph. One is a leg rest, especially nice for small babies. Have you ever missed that type of feature with your little one? Not sure if the upgrade is worth it. Thanks!

Honestly, I LOVE this stroller. It folds down so incredibly compact and the kids the baby has done well in it. In my opinion, it’s best for babies who can hold their heads up. My son was 4 or 5 months when he started riding in it. I don’t feel like we’ve been missing out on anything not having a baby foot rest. 🙂
