Bring on the holiday cheer! The Holidays at the Disneyland Resort return starting today, November 12, and this year, the festivities will run all the way through Jan. 9, 2022 – extending three extra days compared to previous celebrations!
At Disneyland, Guests will welcome back the sight of the park’s 60-foot-tall Christmas tree on Main Street, U.S.A., decorated with nearly 1,800 ornaments – a favorite spot for holiday photos! Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle also makes its glorious return and we are personally excited to see the “A Christmas Fantasy” Parade (as the parks haven’t had any official parades since reopening).
As usual, you can expect Disney characters to be dressed in their seasonal best! Check out the sneak peek that the Disney Parks blog revealed:
At the end of the evening, Guests will enjoy the magical “snowfall” along with colorful projections on Main Street U.S.A., and the façade of “it’s a small world” during the “Believe in Holiday Magic” fireworks spectacular. As a final “kiss goodnight”, several beloved characters, dressed in their pajamas and waving goodbye from the balcony of the Disneyland Railroad Train Station in Town Square.
Don’t miss the seasonal transformations for two favorite attractions, “it’s a small world” Holiday and Haunted Mansion Holiday.
Over at Disney California Adventure Park, Guests will enjoy Disney Festival of Holidays, featuring the sights, sounds and tastes of a diverse season of celebrations, including Christmas/Navidad, Diwali, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Three Kings Day. The festival includes live entertainment, shopping, and eight food marketplaces. Guests can also expect the festive celebration, “Disney ¡Viva Navidad!”, as Disney characters host a fun street party featuring Mexican folklórico dancers and Mariachis, Brazilian samba dancers and percussionists, giant mojiganga puppets and Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.
Over at Paradise Gardens, Guests will enjoy festive foods and beverages, plus live music and performers starting Nov. 12. Later in the season, the Festival of Holidays will debut the newly-featured Mirabel from the Walt Disney Animation Studios upcoming film “Encanto.” Over at the Pacific Wharf, Guests will find holiday-themed menus with special food and drink, crafting stations, and cookie decorating kits – great activities for the little ones to enjoy!
Don’t miss out on the spectacular holiday décor in Cars Land (one of our favorites for Season’s Speedings Greetings!). Two attractions get a holiday transformation – Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree.
Santa Claus returns to his rustic home at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. Guests may share their holiday wishes with the jolly fellow and take souvenir pictures in this scenic location. You’ll also be able to catch Mickey Mouse and pals celebrating the season with a joyful party and dance along to the magical rhythms of the Holiday Toy Drummers several times daily.
We can’t wait to experience all of the holiday magic at The Disneyland Resort! What are you most excited about? Let us know!
