My name is Lisa and I have a Starbucks problem. Let’s begin by saying I adore coffee. I love the way it smells, the way it tastes and the way the warm cup feels in my hands. I also LOVE Starbucks because they are a fun place to hang out and grab a quick bite to eat. When some Disneylanders were upset Starbucks were coming to the parks, this girl jumped with joy. If you are a Starbucks diehard like me, you’ll love these need-to-know facts about Starbucks at the Disneyland Resort.
The Disneyland Resort Starbucks Locations:
- Disneyland on Main Street across the street from the Carnation Cafe.
- Disney California Adventure on Buena Vista Street across from the Carthay Circle Restaurant
- Downtown Disney next to the World of Disney Store

Use your Starbucks App:
If you are a diehard like me, your Starbucks Rewards app is your BFF. It keeps track of all of your free coffees and rewards and means as long as you have your phone you can still get your caffeine fix–even if you don’t have any cash. Here’s what you need to know about using your app.
- You can use your Starbucks rewards app, gift cards or gold card to pay for merchandise (i.e. “You are Here” mugs), food and drinks at the Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Starbucks, but you cannot redeem your rewards for free beverages.
- You can use your Starbucks rewards app, gift cards or gold card to pay for food and drinks at the Downtown Disney Starbucks AND redeem your rewards at that location only.
- Best of all, you can use your app to order ahead from the Downtown Disney location! Just imagine ordering your coffee from the convenience of your hotel room and picking it up on you walk into the parks through Downtown Disney!

Magic Key Passholder Perks:
- You can use your annual pass for discounts at the Starbucks inside Disneyland and DCA, but not the Downtown Disney Starbucks.
A Great Disney Dining Alternative:
- The Downtown Disney Starbucks is the perfect spot to grab breakfast if you are staying at the Disneyland Hotel or Disney’s Grand Californian. It is less expensive than the hotel restaurant breakfasts and you can get the coffees and breakfast sandwiches that Starbucks fans love. Moreover, is usually something the kids will love, so we everyone in the family wins.
- Speaking of those breakfast sandwiches, they have become our family’s go-to breakfast in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. They are a quicker breakfast option and if you are a Starbucks regular, it is exactly what you are used to getting outside “in the real world.”
You can get the same, reliably delicious Starbucks breakfast sandwiches in the resort Starbucks locations that you get at your local store.
- The lines may look long, but the service is FAST–often much faster for a quick bite than traditional Disneyland restaurants.
- Starbucks locations inside the parks offer traditional Starbucks treats as well as Disneyland Resort goodies.
- Starbucks in Downtown Disney offers all of the traditional Starbucks sandwiches and snacks you would normally find at their stores.
- Inside the parks, Starbucks offers lunch and snack items like sandwiches and yogurt parfaits.
- You can bring your reusable tumbler to the Downtown Disney Starbucks just as you do to other locations.
- Customize your coffee just as your heart desires; the baristas can make anything you would normally ask for at your neighborhood Starbucks.
Specialty Starbucks & Disneyland Mugs:
If you collect Starbucks’ “Been There” mugs and travel tumblers, you can get the Disney Parks versions in their respective in-park locations–the Disneyland mug only in Disneyland and the Disney California Adventure mug only in DCA. Other locations (Orange County and Los Angeles) are located in the Downtown Disney Starbucks.

Do you know if you still earn stars when you make purchases at the starbucks locations inside the park?
You still earn stars but cannot redeem rewards.
Sadly the Starbucks in California Adventure gave us a hard time almost every time we were there. They didn’t allow us to use our annual pass discount and they didn’t allow us to reload money onto the account, so under pressure with the long lines we wouldn’t be able to get our star on our card due to no money being available on the card. They always seemed grumpy! It doesn’t stop us from visiting our beloved Starbucks but definitely made it to where I would rather wait to get coffee in Disneyland! The seating area rocks inside the building in DCA though! Especially with our 3 kiddos. A nice, big, cool temps space!
I love the disney starbucks when I go I can I venti frapp. And my breakfasts sand which in morning. Also love the cute designs on the disney cups. I wind up buying the reusable disney starbucks tumbler and the also the diamond edition tumbler! I went in 2016. I also have the reward program which is nice. But I also bought a gift card for starbucks at fredmeyers so I can get fuel points and rebate back for fredmeyers. So between Starbucks rewards program and fred meyers rewards program I was winning.
Do you know if any of the Starbuck locations (DCA, Downtown Disney &/or Disneyland) have special and unique gift cards? Pike Place has one you can only purchase their so curious if they have one unique for the happiest place on earth!

Hi there! I’ve heard that you can order ahead using the Starbucks app. Do you know if that’s accurate? Would be perfect to order ahead as we leave our room at DLH and have it ready by the time we get there. What a time saver!
Yes! That is a terrific question and I should have updated this post once mobile ordering began. You CAN order ahead and pick up your coffee in the Downtown Disney Starbucks. (Mobile ordering is not available for the locations in the parks.)

I’ve always wondered…. Do the employees at Starbucks inside Disneyland as well as DownTown Disney work for the Disney Resort? or do they work for Starbucks? My friends and I had a little debate going on, however we really don’t know other than our assumptions. Thanks for the insight if any.

With the new rewarding system, do you know if the Downtown Disney Starbucks will allow you to use your rewards to redeem for merchandise? I would love to get a Disney Starbucks mug!
Hi Carl! Unfortunately, the Starbucks locations inside the parks do not allow for points redemption – you can only accrue points on your purchases. Rewards can be redeemed only at the Downtown Disney Starbucks locations. Hope that helps answer your question!
