UPDATE: As of 12:01 a.m., February 22, ticket prices have now increased.
This morning, the Orange County Register broke the story that starting tomorrow Disneyland Resort (and Walt Disney World) ticket prices will go up. (The last ticket increase was May 2014.) Here is an example of the increases:
- One-day, one-park tickets for adults will increase from $96 to $99
- One-day, one-pary tickets for children will increase from $90 to $93
- Premium Annual Passports will increase from $699 to $779
- Deluxe Annual Passports will increase from $519 to $549
- So Cal Select Annual Passports will increase from $289 to $299
- The So Cal Annual Passports, which are currently only available for renewal and will be $389
Another notable change: An additional parking option will no longer be available for So Cal, So Cal Select or Deluxe annual passport if you are not renewing.
If you are planning a trip to Disneyland this year OR if you have an annual pass and you are disappointed about the increase, you can do the following to still get the same price.
- You can purchase tickets TODAY on Disneyland’s website and save the vouchers (you can get electronic tickets) and use them on your future visit. They will grant today’s price if your visit is during this calendar year.
- If you have an annual pass that is NOT a So Cal pass and you DO NOT need to pay the monthly payment plan, you can purchase a voucher for a pass that you will redeem after your current pass expires. This is NOT a renewal; you let you pass run out and then redeem the voucher you purchase online today within this calendar year. If you pass doesn’t expire until 2016, you can try purchasing the voucher and hope they honor the price. If they do not honor the price, you would only have to pay the difference–you would not lose the value of the voucher.
- Also note that Disneyland tickets and annual passports are available in some grocery stores, etc., if you don’t want to deal with the online purchase. That being said, it is really easy and I’ve done it before.
- If you have a So Cal Annual Pass, PLEASE go online today and see if you can renew. If you can, you might as well check and see if you can renew yours and if get yourself parking while you are at it. I will admit that no longer offering a parking pass is pretty, darn crumby. I don’t get it!
- You can also purchase ticket vouchers for future use at the Disneyland Resort ticket booths today as well.
Please note that this increase does not affect the Southern California Resident Discount Tickets or military discount tickets.
Maria Chalmers says
The reason pkg. passes are being discontinued is the available parking is being overwhelmed. Often AP holders will arrive separately and meet up (we often did this and we are 1 family). This means several cars for just 1 party. If everyone had to pay for parking more of an effort would be made to arrive together in 1 car. It is not so Disney can make more revenue there is simply not enough parking.
