See that paper person? She went on vacation with me. It might seem strange, but it was actually all in the name of education! (Oh, and she’s eating Lefse in Norway.) If you have kids of reading age, you’ve likely heard of “Flat Stanley”, or you may have seen a “Flat fill-in-the-blank” traveling around, like the one above. Even our local weather guy has a “where is ‘Flat Larry’” segment. Let me give you a little back ground; “Flat Stanley” is a rather old, but still quite popular children’s book by author Jeff Brown, about a young boy named Stanley...
When booking our Disneyland vacations, we always choose one of the three Disney resorts. Why? Though we may stay at Marriott or Hilton properties on other domestic junkets, we treasure every ounce of the magic that a Disney property provides. That holds true for Walt Disney World as well, only there the choices are 26 hotels and villas deep!If you are a fellow fan of Disney history, you will need some perspective. Two solitary Walt Disney World hotels opened for business on October 1, 1972; the resort my family calls “home”, the Polynesian Village, and the vista below- the Contemporary...
Welcome to Walt Disney World Week here on Babes In Disneyland! This week, we are thrilled to be publishing information, reviews and photos that we think Disneyland fans will appreciate as they learn about and maybe even plan trips to Walt Disney’s east coast dream resort. I visited Walt Disney World for the first time in 2011. Being a lifetime Disneyland visitor and native Southern Californian, it was hard for me for me to process just how large the Walt Disney World Resort is and all of the ways the resorts are both the same and very different. This...

In front of Sleeping Beauty Castle I got the opportunity to visit the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort during my time living abroad in Asia. Located on Lantau Island, Hong Kong Disneyland is a scaled-down version of Anaheim’s Disneyland Park, with three themed lands: Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, and Adventureland. My Hong Kong Disneyland visit began at the Metro station aboard a Disneyland train that had a direct stop at Hong Kong Disneyland. The train is decked out with Mickey-shaped handrails and windows and features small figures of Disney characters throughout the train. I loved the theming! Upon exiting at the Disneyland Resort...

I am proud to announce that Babes In Disneyland has been nominated as a top So Cal blog by Circle of Moms. I am thrilled and honored by this nomination, as Babes is one of the only “niche” parenting blog in this category. Toy Story Mania! is a 4D arcade-style ride that is located behind Mickey’s Fun Wheel and is inspired by Disney-Pixar’s Toy Story films. It is a combination dark ride and interactive game in which guests aim for targets with a Spring-Action Shooter. There are five different competitive scenarios and one practice game that allow you to compete against people in your car for top score. After the queue, guests enter Andy’s room and the world of toys. Riding in a swiveling carnival car, guests take aim at the different targets. Each carnival car has two shooters and a small party...
Saving vs. Splurging on FOOD in Disneyland
August 6, 2012 in All Posts, disneyland, disneyland resort, Jessica, restaurant tips, Tips & Tricks for Families
Splurging on your vacation really feels like vacation to me – just being able to buy or eat what you want and not worrying about how much you’re spending is quite a luxury! I’ve listed some great places to splurge on your meals. Alternately, if the only way you can get to Disneyland is to save your pennies, then save on! If you want to be the ultimate saver, you can make oatmeal in your hotel room, bring breakfast bars, snacks, even your own PB&J fixings for lunch. But if you want to still eat in the parks, and save...
