“Small World” Themed Girl’s Room

October 3, 2012 in "it's a small world", All Posts, disney at home, home decor, Jessica
I loudly and proudly love Disney, but I prefer it in a more subtle way in my home decor. As I was moving my son Liam out of the nursery and into his new “Cars” themed room, I was thinking about how I would decorate my, soon-to-arrive, baby daughter’s room. I had found some fabric for Carolina’s baby quilt that I loved, which happened to have birds. I don’t love birds, but figured it would have to be the theme of the room. But then, we visited Disneyland while I was pregnant last summer, and my husband and I saw...

Terrific Tip Tuesday: Turtle Talk with Crush

October 2, 2012 in All Posts, Animation Academy, Hollywood Pictures Backlot, Tips & Tricks for Families, turtle talk with crush
Turtle Talk with Crush is a fantastical interactive attraction featuring our favorite wave-riding turtle, Crush from the Disney-Pixar film “Finding Nemo.” The attraction is located inside the Animation Building in Hollywood Land in Disney California Adventure.  The adventure begins when a Cast Member enters the animation courtyard and leads the audience into a theater equipped with a magic window into the ocean. Once inside, guests can sit back and enjoy the magic as they have a live, unrehearsed and in-depth chat with Crush. His dialogue and motions are specific to each session and audience members who are selected to...

Merchandise Monday: New Pins to Haunt the Disneyland Resort

October 1, 2012 in All Posts, disneyland resort, merchandise, shopping tips
It’s no secret that around our house pin trading is a favorite Disney hobby, to put it mildly. Over the past few years we’ve made many memories while pin trading in the parks, and keeping up with the latest pin releases from home is a way to maintain the excitement even when we’re not visiting the resort. I’m really excited about some “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” and Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction-inspired pins releasing in the next couple weeks at the Disneyland Resort! The first set of limited edition pins, titled “What’s This?” each have a hidden surprise...

Fun Fact Friday: Who is that on the Golden Horseshoe?

in All Posts, disneyland, disneyland resort, fun facts, Randy, Tips & Tricks for Families
If you’ve ever been in the Golden Horseshoe Saloon, you may have seen these two characters depicted on the windows in front of you as you walked in. But who are they? If you grew up watching Walt Disney Animated Features, or if you’ve got a special love for the 1940’s films, they may look familiar to you. The 1948 animated feature Melody Time is one of the “package films”. These movies are a collection of two or more shorter features into a single release. Other examples you may recognize are Make Mine Music, Fun and Fancy Free, and The...
