Is it crowded on Thanksgiving? Our mini survival guide for turkey day!
November 20, 2012 in All Posts, attendance trends, attraction tips, Tips & Tricks for Families
All week, I’ve been fielding the questions about crowds and Thanksgiving. Visiting Disneyland at Thanksgiving is a great way to kick off the holidays and for moms, we get out of cooking and get to dig in to a meal made for us by the Disneyland chefs. That being said, the Disneyland Resort is very busy Thanksgiving week. Many schools are closed this week or have a limited schedule. The same goes with many employers, as well, and both of these factors add up to increased attendance through the weekend. If you are thinking about heading to the Disneyland Resort this...

Terrific Tip Tuesday: Keeping Your Batteries Charged
in All Posts, disneyland, disneyland resort, main street, Tips & Tricks for Families
Spending time at the Disneyland Resort can be exciting, exhilarating, fun and a bit exhausting. With the little ones eager to get in line for the next ride as soon as getting off another, there is often not enough time to stop and recharge your batteries. The best way that I know to do just that is to visit Market House on Main Street for a freshly brewed Starbucks. With a day’s supply of caffeine at your finger tips, there’s no way to lose power — right? Wrong. Let’s be honest, we’ve all forgotten our battery chargers at some...
Media Event Overview and An Introduction to Cars Land Holiday Decor
in All Posts, christmas, holidays
I was beyond thrilled when Lisa invited me to attend and photograph last Monday’s holiday media event at The Disneyland Resort. The event featured a tour of the holiday decor at Disney California Adventure, led by Dave Caranci, Manager of Resort Enhancement for The Disneyland Resort, Disney Cruise Line, and the Aulani (Disney’s Hawaiian Resort & Spa). Hearing Dave go into great detail (click here for an exclusive behind-the-scenes video) about the planning and implementation of this year’s holiday decor gave me a whole new appreciation and excitement not only for the holidays, but also for Disney California Adventure. Planning for the holiday season, specifically the decor of Buena...

If you’re an Annual Passholder planning a trip (or two!) to the Disneyland Resort in the coming weeks, there are a few exclusive offers you’ll want to check out while you’re visiting. Fans of “Alice and Wonderland” or the Mad T Party, a colorful celebration of lights and music in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure, will love the new collection of pins designed by Southern Californian artist Jeff Granito in collaboration with Disney Theme Park Merchandise. One particular pin in the collection is an Annual Passholder exclusive that reads “Password Please” and features the notorious Tweedle bouncers. It...

In a release today, Disney Interactive announced the latest adventure to sweep Club Penguin. According to the release (and my 7-year-old son who adores Club Penguin), the Island of Club Penguin is under attack from the notorious villain, Herbert P. Bear, and it’s up to players to enlist as secret agents and save the Island before it is too late. Club Penguin’s top enemy has built a solar laser that redirects all sunlight to his headquarters on the Island, Club Herbert. As the sunlight is taken away from Club Penguin, the Island will become darker and colder eventually resulting in...
Behind the Decorating at Disney California Adventure: Cars Land
November 15, 2012 in All Posts, Cars Land, christmas, decor, disney california adventure, holidays, video
Decorating an area of the Disneyland Resort like Main Street or Buena Vista Street is no easy task. Decorating a place like Cars Land in Disney California Adventure Park? That’s even tougher. When Dave Caranci, the Resort’s manager of resort enhancement, and his team were tasked with “thinking like a car” to put a holiday spin on Cars Land, they worked with John Lasseter and the artists at Pixar to create an imaginative, fresh holiday experience. This video was shot during a very special media tour of Cars Land given by Dave, and is the second in our video series...
