Early Entry for Disneyland Annual Passholders

January 23, 2013 in All Posts, disney california adventure, disneyland, legacy annual pass
Got an annual pass? There’s lots of perks that come with having a pass: the discounts, being able to visit when you want, special passholder events and perhaps best of all, early entry.   Right now, passholders can enjoy early admission to select attractions, stores, entertainment and dining locations in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Parks one full hour before the parks open to the general public on weekends through April 14, 2013, with the exception of February 3.   To be eligible for early entry, guests must have a valid annual passport and it cannot be a blackout...

Terrific Tip Tuesday: The power of Twitter

January 22, 2013 in All Posts, attraction tips, attraction wait times, characters, dining, disney california adventure, disneyland, Tips & Tricks for Families
Did you know that Disneyland (@disneylandtoday) and Disney California Adventure (@DCAToday) have Twitter accounts? Both of these accounts are manned accounts that provide great information, answer questions and much more in real time. Together, these two Twitter accounts can make a day at the Disneyland Resort a lot more fun and magical.  Before your next trip to the resort, I recommend following both of these accounts and putting them in their own separate “list” so that while you are at the parks, you can easily access both of their tweets. Here are some examples of things they tweet: As...

How To Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular Review

January 18, 2013 in All Posts, other so cal tourist attractions
Last night I took the kids to see the Dream Works’ How To Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The show follows the story of the Academy Award nominated movie How To Train Your Dragon using live actors, pyrotechnic special effects and host of lifelike dragons that walk, run, fly and breathe fire. How To Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular is everything a family could ask for when it comes to live entertainment. The show’s the art direction and creativity in presenting the content is genius and the dragons are breath-taking. Acting in an...

Fun Fact Friday: The Disneyland Trains

in All Posts, attraction tips, disneyland, fun facts, Randy, Tips & Tricks for Families
If you’ve been to Disneyland, you’ve surely seen the Disneyland Railroad–originally named the Santa Fe & Disneyland Railroad. You may have even noticed the names painted on the sides of the locomotives. But have you ever wondered who the people were that the engines were named after…or if they were real people at all?In fact, all five names did belong to real people. Not much is well known about some of them, but they all have an interesting connection to history–some to railroading and some to Disney.Engine No. 1 – C. K. Holliday: Named after Cyrus K. Holliday, the first president...

Meet Sofia the First

January 11, 2013 in All Posts, disney junior, girls, princess
Our family has been a Disney Junior family for as long as I can remember.  Both of my kiddos learned the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme song right along with their ABCs and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.  As my three year old daughter Emma has gotten more and more into princesses and all things pink and sparkly we’ve had a hard time finding a show that she can relate and really get into, until now. Disney Junior’s new animated series “Sofia the First,” specifically addresses the need for a show that caters to the younger girl audience (ages 2-7).      Last November, Disney Channel released “Sofia the First: Once Upon...

The atmosphere on Buena Vista Street is so much fun and that’s due to the great atmosphere talent. Breakfast at Tangaroa Terrace

January 8, 2013 in All Posts, dining, disneyland hotel, restaurant tips, Tips & Tricks for Families
The Disneyland Resort is often overlooked as a place to eat breakfast. While there are a number of great places to eat inside the parks (my favorite being Flo’s V8 Cafe in Cars Land), my all-time favorite place to grab breakfast is Tangaroa Terrace at the Disneyland Hotel. Tangaroa Terrace offers great, fresh food at a reasonable price and is a great place to eat whether your heading to the parks, staying at the resort hotels or just an Orange County local looking for a unique place to eat breakfast. Why Tangaroa Terrace is Terrific for Families: There’s always plenty...
