Remember Innoventions? You know, that giant building in Disneyland’s Tomorrowland in between Redd Rocket’s Pizza Port and Autopia? It’s more than a great place to escape the rain or heat; it’s full of great hands-on exhibits, a super-cool Peter Pan-themed “bedroom” complete with an enchanting story time, and for a limited time, Iron Man Tech. Iron Man Tech allows Disneyland guests to get up close and see all of Tony Starks Iron Man suits and, let me tell you, some of these suits are nothing short of a work of art. My kids (and by kids I’m counting my...

Ask the Disney Experts: Favorite Spot to Relax in DCA
in All Posts, Ask the Disney Expert, disney california adventure, Jessica, Tips & Tricks for Families
This week, we were asked what our favorite places to relax in Disney California Adventure were, and why… “My favorite place to relax in Disney California Adventure Park is on the patio at Flo’s V8 Cafe. After enjoying one of the home-style rotisserie classics at this fun Cars Land restaurant, it’s a wonderful place to take in a spectacular view of the Cadillac Mountain Range in Ornament Valley. My son is not quite tall enough to ride Radiator Springs Racers yet, so he watches with delight as cars speed by on the thrilling attraction!” “Without a doubt, my family’s favorite...

Photo Credit: Tricia Malchow As you’ve walked down Main Street U.S.A., how many times have you passed this post along the side of the street–or any of the others like it. Have you wondered what they are, or why they are there? Main Street U.S.A. is a turn of the 20th-century small town street, right at the time the transition was happening from horses and horse-drawn vehicles (like the Horse Drawn Street Car) to the newfangled horseless carriages (cars). When cars drove into town, they could park along the curb, but if you rode your horse, what would...
D23 Expo Offers a Peek Behind the Curtain with ‘Voices of the Disney Parks’
September 12, 2013 in All Posts, attractions, d23, disney california adventure, disneyland, disneyland resort
During the 2013 D23 Expo, I had the pleasure of attending a session called “Voices of the Disney Parks,” which featured an amazing panel of voice-over artists who lend their talent to attractions, shows and announcements at Disney Parks. While I didn’t recognize their faces, hearing their voices made them seem like old, familiar friends, and it was heartwarming to hear their behind-the-scenes stories. I’ve attended the D23 Expo every year since the inaugural event in 2009, and a new feature added this year which I really found helpful was StagePass. Attendees could choose to claim up to two StagePass tickets...

I started Babes In Disneyland back when my second son was born and my oldest son was about 2 1/2 years-old. We were in the thick of diapers, breastfeeding and stroller choices and life was incredibly hectic. Today, we have three beautiful boys and as they have grown, we’ve celebrated and marked many of life’s milestones with trip to the Resort. Last Sunday, we braved the heat and crowds and “celebrated” a few very special milestones. Aidan is my oldest son and on our way to Disneyland announced that he was going to ride California Screamin’ for the first...
