Product Review: Hygeia Evolve Breast Pump

June 15, 2021 in All Posts, babies & toddlers
Disclosure: I received a Hygeia Evolve Breast Pump for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own. If you are a Disneyland mama who has chosen to breastfeed or exclusively pump breastmilk for your little babe, it can be daunting to think about bringing your hospital-grade breast pump on your next visit to The Disneyland Resort. We are so lucky that Disneyland is such a great destination for moms with their dedicated Baby Care Centers, which offers great resources for all your nursing, pumping, and diaper changing needs. But, while Disneyland will store your breast pump so...

The Disneyland Resort Baby Care Centers: Home away from home for babies and toddlers

June 1, 2021 in All Posts, babies & toddlers, disney california adventure, disneyland, disneyland resort, Tips & Tricks for Families
*Editor’s Note: This post has been updated in 2021 to reflect current protocols in place during the COVID-19 pandemic* The Baby Center is your baby’s home away from home and is a great resource for all things “baby” while you are at Disneyland. The Baby Center is located at the end of Main Street on the east side right near First Aid and the Plaza Inn Restaurant and at Disney California Adventure near the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain in the Pacific Wharf (just beyond Cars Land).  The Baby Care Centers are clean and quiet and a definite refuge from...

The Disneyland Resort kicked off a public service awareness campaign called “Together We Can Be Incredible” across Orange County (where Disneyland is located) and Los Angeles County this week, encouraging residents to follow current health and safety guidelines to help protect local communities. Featuring characters from Disney and Pixar’s “The Incredibles,” the campaign aims to share tips and reminders of important health and safety measures delivered through digital billboards, radio, TV, social media content and more, which local residents will see in the coming weeks. The PSA reiterates current health and safety measures based on guidance from health authorities,...

The Super Secret Hive: A Musical Adventure Podcast for the whole family

November 18, 2020 in All Posts
With so many amazing Cast Members on furlough from Disney, many have taken their talents and  channeled their creative energy into side projects.  One of those projects that we’ve come across is a fun musical adventure podcast called “The Super Secret Hive”. Focusing on “edutainment”, the duo behind “The Super Secret Hive” – Mike Dombrow and Julie Frost – combine music, fun facts, and more for the whole family to enjoy (though the sweet spot would be ages 5-12). On their website, they also feature a handful of free activities/resources they’ve put together for each episode – perfect for...

Dole’s “Now We’re (All) Cooking” Initiative: A Magical, Educational Experience for the Whole Family

in All Posts
Disclosure: I am an official ambassador for Dole. Dole provided me with compensation for my time. As always, all opinions expressed are my own. Over the weekend, I was so excited to be able to participate in Dole’s “Now We’re (All) Cooking” Initiative inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Ratatouille. The initiative gets home cooks making incredible healthy and delicious dishes. As a cook, I rank myself somewhere between novice and not-a-danger-to-others-in-the-kitchen. The videos and recipes are very easy to follow and make (even for someone like me) and absolutely delicious! The first recipe I tried was Little Chef Potato-Leek...

Disney At Home: Carnation Cafe Fried Pickles Recipe

November 14, 2020 in All Posts, disney at home, recipes
Today is National Pickle Appreciation Day! In honor of this day, we thought it’d be fun to share a special recipe from Disneyland: the fried pickles from Carnation Cafe on Main Street U.S.A!  Although the Disney Parks Blog shared this recipe a few months ago, we actually got a first glimpse of it in the new “Delicious Disney: The Fresh Edition” cookbook that we picked up prior to the pandemic at Disneyland Park. In full transparency, I’m actually not a fan of pickles, but I know that this dish is a HUGE hit among Disneyland fans, and we wanted...

My Dreams of Disneyland During the Pandemic

November 11, 2020 in All Posts
It’s been eight months since Disneyland closed its gates due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We had just gotten passes after some time away from the parks in late-January. We had vowed that 2020 was going to be our “Disney year to remember.” We had so many big plans – Dapper Days, a video series, eating lots of great food, and spending a ton of time together before my sons, ages 15, 13, and 10, think they are too old to have fun with me.   My family and I have been abundantly cautious during the pandemic. Living in Burbank...
