CHOC Walk In The Park Team

August 22, 2010 in All Posts, CHOC
The CHOC Walk in the Park Babes in Disneyland team has grown to 11 members and we are hoping for more readers to join us the morning of October 17.  By walking with our team, you will not only get to experience walking through Disneyland before it opens, but you’ll be raising money for a great cause–Orange County’s kids.  Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) is committed to the health and well-being of children through clinical expertise, advocacy, outreach and research that brings advanced treatment to pediatric patients regardless of their family’s ability to pay.  Since opening its doors...

Walt Disney World Wednesday: Cinderella’s Royal Table

August 19, 2010 in All Posts, guest post, walt disney world
By Guest Blogger, Christina of the blog “Disney in our Blood.” Like last week’s guest writer, Christina is new to blogging and has recently created her blog Disney in our Blood–a blog dedicated to all things Disney and Disney parks.  Growing up in California, Christina was a frequent Disneyland visitor.  For the last four years, Christina has been living in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba with her Navy husband, Aaron and taking advantage of her proximety to Walt Disney World.  She is a stay-at-home mom to her 23-month old little girl, Ashlyn.  Please show Christina some love with your comments and...

Monday Must Have: Safety 1st Aerolite LX Deluxe Stroller Review and Giveaway (CLOSED)

August 16, 2010 in All Posts, babies & toddlers, favorite products, review
For today’s Monday Must Have, I am happy to share with you the Safety 1st Aerolite LX Deluxe stroller.  I have been testing out this stroller for about a month and it’s been fantastic.   What makes this product great? This stroller easily collapses and can be opened using one hand.  It is VERY easy to get in and out of the car.  When the stroller is folded, it goes pretty flat considering its overall size.  I love the dark color because it hides inevitable stains and the sunshade allows for greater coverage for baby on sunny days. Extra sunshade...

World of Cars Launch Party

August 13, 2010 in All Posts, boys, disney video games and online
On Wednesday I attended the World of Cars Online media event party.  The celebration was held at the famous L.A. landmark Bob’s Big Boy in Burbank, California.  The car hop area of this famous eatery was transformed into Flo’s V8 Cafe and inside guests were treated to Bob’s famous Big Boy burgers (slider versions), along with milk shakes, fries, and other classic diner fare. After walking the red carpet with the likes of Tori Spelling, Melissa Joan Hart, Garcelle Beauvais, and a bunch of teen actors I have never seen before, my three boys (plus one of my son’s...

Walt Disney World Wednesday: Lodging Options

August 11, 2010 in All Posts, guest post, walt disney world
Welcome to Babes in Disneyland’s first Walt Disney World Wednesday.  You know that this is the place to come to for all things Disneyland.  In light of the fact that one of my favorite guest writers for B.I.D. (Melissa) is planning a Walt Disney World vacation for her family, I thought it might be nice to offer all of you a little bit of insight on how to plan for a trip to Florida.  In spite of working for Disney for five years, I know very little about Walt Disney World.  I hope you find the posts in this...

Join The Babes In Disneyland CHOC Walk Team

August 6, 2010 in All Posts, CHOC, disneyland resort
Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) is committed to the health and well-being of children through clinical expertise, advocacy, outreach and research that brings advanced treatment to pediatric patients regardless of their family’s ability to pay.  Since opening its doors in 1964, CHOC has provided the highest quality medical care to children with a state-of-the-art 238 bed main hospital facility in the City of Orange, a hospital-within-a-hospital in Mission Viejo, and five community clinics — plus over 100 additional programs and services. With admissions growing by 95% since 1998, CHOC and CHOC at Mission combined rank as the 18th busiest...

Monday Must Have: Baby Sherpa Backpack

July 26, 2010 in All Posts, babies & toddlers, favorite products, review, Tips & Tricks for Families
For today’s Monday Must Have, I am happy to share with you a Alpha Sherpa backpack by Baby Sherpa.  I have been using this backpack for outings for about a month and love how it allows me to be organized on the go.   What makes this product great? The Alpha Sherpa allows parents with a lot of baby necessities to keep everything they need organized while on the go.  There is a product for everything and an insulated cooler at the base.  Check out some of these features: Pockets to keep things organized.  There are two zipper openings for...

Terrific Tip Tuesday: Dole Whips OUTSIDE of Disneyland

July 13, 2010 in All Posts, dining, dole whip, other so cal tourist attractions
What?  Dole Whips outside of a Disney Park?!  Well…sort of.   If you have a hankering for a Dole Whip and you live in California, Hawaii, Texas, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, or Florida, run (don’t walk) to your nearest Yogurtland and pour yourself the Pineapple Tart nonfat frozen yogurt.  You will swear you are at the Tiki Room listening to Jose, Fritz, Michael, and Pierre serenade you.  It is refreshing, delicious, and a VERY close second to the Dole Whip.  Click here to find the location near you!

Monday Must Have: ERGObaby Carrier Review

July 12, 2010 in All Posts, babies & toddlers, favorite products, review
For today’s Monday Must Have, I am happy to share with you a baby carrier that was new to me with baby number three, but a familiar favorite to many of you, the ERGObaby carrier.  I received one two weeks ago and it is simply fantastic. What makes this product great? I love a lot about this product.  I love that versatility that allows you to carry baby on your front, hip, or back.  (While I don’t recommend wearing baby on your back while at Disneyland because of the attractions, I can think of PLENTY of occasions not at...

Guest Blog From the Diary of a Self Proclaimed Disney Geek: My First Club 33 Experience

July 11, 2010 in All Posts, dining, disneyland, disneyland resort, fun facts, guest post, new orleans square
By Guest Blogger, MelissaMelissa is a mom of two boys, ages 4 and 3, from Temecula, California. When she is not having fun with her kids at the Disneyland Resort, she enjoys camping and watching the Angels. She has been a Babes in Disneyland reader for a long time and has contributed to the blog in the past. I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve used my children to foster my addiction to all things Disney. I can and have used them as an excuse to wear a Tinkerbell adorned T shirt any day of the week. But...
