2011 Disneyland Candlelight Procession

November 25, 2011 in All Posts, holidays
Photo courtesy of The Daily Disney and my lovely friend,Marcy Massura The Candlelight Procession is an annual two-day private Disneyland event held in the public setting of Town Square of Disneyland. Started in 1958 by Walt Disney, the event is Disneyland’s annual Christmas card to special invited guests and park guests lucky enough to grab a spot along the outskirts of Main Street hours before the show begins.  The Candlelight Procession is tough to put into words. It features approximately 600 singers–including Disneyland Cast Members and carolers from local schools and churches selected to participate–who carry electric candles in...

Disneyland Holiday Q & A: What special treats are available at holiday time at Disney California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort?

November 24, 2011 in All Posts, dining, disney california adventure, disneyland resort, holidays
Special holiday foods have become just as a part of the season as decor and entertainment at the Disneyland Resort and this year is certainly no exception. The master food innovators at the Disneyland Resort have out done themselves this year to bring some really great treats to Disney California Adventure Park. At a recent media event held for bloggers, I had the opportunity to sample all of these amazing desserts. Please note, that the sample sizes photographed are smaller than their actual sizes in the park. All of the desserts cost $3-$5. All food is better when it’s...

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: “it’s a small world” Holiday trivia and pics

November 22, 2011 in "it's a small world", All Posts, attraction tips, attractions, disneyland, disneyland resort, holidays, Tips & Tricks for Families
It simply couldn’t be Christmas time at the Disneyland Resort without “it’s a small world” Holiday. Each year, “it’s a small world” gets an “overlay” of holiday decor making it the merriest cruise around the world and celebrates the customs of winter celebrations from around the world.   To bring “it’s a small world Holiday to life, decorators use 50,000 Christmas lights on the façade of the attraction and an additional 200,000 mini-lights in the trees, hedges and topiaries surrounding it.  To further enhance the attraction, pine tree and peppermint scents in the European scenes. It takes 75 gallons of...

Bridgit Mendler stars as Teddy Duncan in the Disney Channel hit series, “Good Luck Charlie.” Teddy is a fun-loving teen who wraps each episode by making a video for her baby sister Charlie in which she recaps the episode’s lesson or moral. When the family is separated at the airport, they begin the adventure of reuniting before Christmas. In my interview with Bridgit, we talk about her life as a...
