Traveling to Disneyland: Admission Ticket Options

May 7, 2012 in All Posts, disney california adventure, disneyland, disneyland resort, Jessica, Tips & Tricks for Families, Travel Tips
There have been many times I’ve wished I lived in California just so that I could be close to Disneyland and visit whenever I wanted… *sigh*. A girl can dream. But, since I don’t live there – and likely won’t anytime soon, it’s a good thing I enjoy traveling and planning for it (and talking about it)! For me, the planning and anticipation is half the fun, and I’m lucky enough to have been able to do it many times for our family vacations.    Hi! I’m Jess, and I live in Idaho with my husband and kiddos, Liam...

Fun Fact Friday: Indiana Jones Adventure + print your own decoder card!

May 4, 2012 in All Posts, disneyland, fun facts, Hidden Mickeys, Randy, Tips & Tricks for Families
When it comes to one of the things Disney does best, right at the top of my list is the themed attractions. From the themed queue (line) to the attraction itself to the exit. The very best attractions tell a unified story from beginning to end, and a great example of this is the Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye.  Imagineers call the queue for an attraction “Act I” of the story. This is where the stage is set and the story begins to be told. The Disneyland Encyclopedia says, “At over a quarter-mile long, this would...

Turning 21 at Disneyland Resort!

in All Posts, disney california adventure, disneyland hotel, disneyland resort, downtown disney, world of color
I know- I’m writing for the readers of Babes in Disneyland. Whyever would I choose this topic? Because I assure you, in the wave of a wand, your babes will come of age.  When your Peter Pan is weaned at Neverland; when every first step, double-digits birthday celebration, communion and graduation has a Disney Park as its backdrop, there should be no other place to begin the “awfully big adventure” into manhood.  What follows is the pixie dust that will sail our 21 year old into everlasting youth. –   Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen  The perfect birthday dinner for a...

Fun Fact Friday: Snow White’s Grotto

in All Posts, disneyland, fun facts, Randy, Tips & Tricks for Families
There is a lovely spot off to the right of Sleeping Beauty Castle’s drawbridge. For a long time, it was one of the quiet, tranquil parts of Disneyland. It’s still relatively quiet—though it’s become busier in recent years. It’s also got a history that most guests who walk by it—or even spend time there—have never heard. Snow White’s Grotto and Wishing Well opened in the Spring of 1961. The white marble statues of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs were sculpted by an unknown Italian artist and given to Walt Disney. They create a lovely scene, but there’s a problem. All eight...
