Fun Fact Friday: The “Buzz” Around Disneyland’s Location
July 20, 2012 in All Posts, disneyland, fun facts, Randy, walt disney
The future site of Disneyland Photo Copyright The Walt Disney Company.Used by permission. With Disneyland’s 57th birthday being just three days ago, I thought it might be fun to go back before the beginning today. Most of us take it for granted that Disneyland is in Anaheim. Of course it is. Where else would it be? In 1953, when Walt Disney was looking for someone to determine the economic feasibility and the best location for a new project unlike anything attempted before—Disneyland, he contracted with Stanford Research Institute, or SRI, and the project was assigned to Harrison “Buzz” Price....
(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: The Disney California Adventure Re-grand Opening Ceremony through my lense
July 18, 2012 in All Posts
To say that I have been blessed with some amazing opportunities during my time working with the Disneyland Resort on behalf of Babes In Disneyland is an understatement. I was honored to be among a relatively small amount of media outlets invited to attend the re-grand opening ceremony for Disney California Adventure Park. My morning in the park began around 6:30 with a Starbucks while watching Bob Iger rehearse for the big event. Once up in the grand stands, I was poised and ready to take in the ceremony and the show. It was an exciting morning! Mary Niven...

I love to read reviews and rarely try anything new—whether it’s restaurants, a vet or a house painter–without checking out reviews online first. Did you know you can get restaurant reviews for Disney Parks restaurants on YP.com? (As in the Yellow Pages!) I didn’t until tonight and posted a lot of my own personal reviews for restaurants in the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. I, of course, entered a review for my family’s go-to dinner restaurant at the Disneyland Resort, the Plaza Inn. Clickhere to check out my review. If you would like to check out my...

With the Disney Junior channel, families can tune in around the clock for...

Buena Vista Street Apartments: Watching the world go by and experiencing the details
July 12, 2012 in All Posts, buena vista street, disney california adventure, disneyland resort, fun facts
There’s no way around it. It’s official. I am a Buena Vista Street geek. There’s something about Buena Vista Street that has me totally and completely obsessed with the new entrance land of Disney California Adventure Park. At the root of it, I think there’s something about the time period that really appeals to me. I ADORE the decor and architecture of the 1920s and 1930s. A lot of the furniture in our home is from that time period. In fact, the house I live in was built in the 1930s. I live within a mile or so of...
(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: Documenting the Magic
July 11, 2012 in All Posts, disneyland, legacy annual pass, photography
I love to make our Disneyland vacations as magical as possible, but I love documenting the magic through photos even more. Whether it’s a meet and greet with our favorite character, our first time on a new ride, or our 100th time visiting our personalized stone in the Main Entry Esplanade- you can bet I have a photo of it. I make it a point to take a picture in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle each time we visit. I do this for several reasons: to document who we’ve traveled with, what season it is, and also my kids...
