Fun-Fact Friday: Behind the Signs of Fantasyland
August 3, 2012 in All Posts, disneyland, fun facts, Randy, Tips & Tricks for Families
As you probably have noticed by now, I always encourage Disneyland Resort guests to look all around them to notice the hidden treasures. Today is not different. Hopefully you are looking up, down, and around when you visit. But what about behind you? That’s right, behind you. You’ve probably seen the wait time signs at the Fantasyland attractions many times. Yes, Peter Pan’s Flight really is 45 minutes, even though Snow White’s Scary Adventure is only 10 minutes. When you’ve passed the wait time sign, though, have you ever looked behind you, at the back of the signs? If...

There’s a world of possibility for Disney-inspired party themes beyond Mickey Mouse. Disney Cruise Line’s pirate-themed nightinspired us to throw our own pirate party My son is turning 2 in a couple weeks, so I’ve been busy planning his pirate-themed birthday party. The idea began with my little buccaneer’s fascination with “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” on the Disney Junior channel. And, while on...

Keeping Parents & Kids Together at the Disneyland Resort
in All Posts, babies & toddlers, Jessica, Tips & Tricks for Families
Taking little kids into Disneyland, and the mass of people inside it, can be nerve-wracking for some parents – it certainly seems like it would be easy to lose a child in the crowd. Here are a few things you can do to prepare for the *fingers-crossed* unlikely event that you and your child would be separated: 1. Take a head-to-toe picture of your child on your phone (or some other device that you’ll have with you) the morning of your visit. That way you’ll have the most up-to-date picture of your child to show Cast Members, and knowing...
Terrific Tip Tuesday: The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure Tips for Families
July 24, 2012 in All Posts, ariel's under sea adventure, attraction tips, attractions, disney california adventure, disneyland resort, Tips & Tricks for Families
The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure is a traditional “dark ride” similar to those in Disneyland’s Fantasyland, using the very best and latest technology created by Disney’s Imagineers, and is located on Paradise Pier facing Mickey’s Fun Wheel in Disney California Adventure Park. Ariel’s Undersea Adventure utilizes an omni-mover system (like the Haunted Mansion doom-buggies), shaped like clamshells. The clamshells can seat a small party of four, but guests are most comfortable seated with three. The attraction takes guests under the sea to meet Ariel, Sebastian, Scuttle, Flounder and even Ursula. The attraction provides guests to sing along...
Loud music, funky outfits, colorful refreshments, arcade games: a typical teen paradise, yes? But imbed this utopia in a Disney theme park, and you have created a literal wonderland for the under 25 crowd. The Mad T Party, now playing from 7pm nightly in Disney California Adventure’s Hollywood Land., is a psychedelic trip down the Rabbit Hole- really! My boys, leaving Hollywood behind. From the moment you step into the neon enshrined mist, you are fully immersed in an edgy version of Alice’s world. This is absolutely Tim Burton’s version of Alice in Wonderland (did you know that he was consulted on...
