We are starting a new column called Writer Round-Up, where we will ask all of the writers and contributors for the Babes in Disneyland blog to share their own opinions and answers on a specific Disneyland Resort topic. As a follow-up to our Top 5 post from last week, each writer was asked what his or her favorite place is in Disneyland to sit or take a rest… without further ado – here we go for our first Writer Round-Up!
“My favorite spot to take a break from the hustle and bustle of Disneyland Park is on the benches near the Baby Care Center just off Main Street, U.S.A. My family can often be found lingering there since it’s a somewhat secluded and contained spot for my toddler son to burn off some energy while my husband and I park the stroller and rest our feet in the shade before heading off to the next adventure! With the Little Red Wagon right in the area, a corn dog or refreshing cold beverage is just a few steps away.”
“I have many, but one of my favorite places to rest, and take a small break from crowds and sun is on one of the benches that lines the Frontierland walk-way – it winds behind Big Thunder, and ends up in Fantasyland. It’s a very quiet and uncrowded walk-way, but even better there are many places to sit along the Rivers of America and plenty of big shade trees. It’s truly an out-of-the-way spot! However, it seems like we’re always bumping into Characters back there, or at least waving at them as they walk-by. Love that!”
“If I’m feeling the need to sit and take a rest I head to any of the shaded benches on Main Street. I love to sit and people watch and it’s also a great place to meet-and-greet with my favorite characters.”
“My favorite spot to sit and relax with the family is the downstairs dining area at the Hungry Bear Restaurant. It is always cool and the kids love watching the boats go by and feeding the ducks.”
“Sitting outside the Jolly Holiday Bakery, as close to Main Street as possible. At the end of the day, this is the perfect spot to sit and enjoy the music and atmosphere, do some people watching and devour an ice cream cone. The twinkling lights overhead create an ideal ambiance for recalling favorite memories from the day. During the day, I love sitting along the edge of the Rivers of America (wherever there’s a bench or ledge to sit on). Here, the water is calm and the sounds of Frontierland, New Orleans Square and Adventureland collide to create a unique soundtrack for the moment of relaxation.”
“I love the lower level of the Hungry Bear Restaurant eating area, preferably the back corner, right next to the Rivers of America. It’s relatively quiet and uncrowded, but you can still watch the boats & canoes pass by, hear some of the music, and be in Disneyland without being “in Disneyland.” And, if you choose to get it, the food there is pretty good, too!”
“The benches in between The French Market and The Haunted Mansion are nice and shady and a great respite from the heat. It’s great for people watching and resting before you hop on the train back to Main Street!”
Those are our favorites, now share yours! We’d love to hear what you have to say and share it with our readers. We’ll choose a handful of your favorites to share on the blog for a “Reader Round-Up”!

I agree with the writer’s posts and there are so many places I love, but when we need a break from the noise and heat I like the cinema on Main street. It’s cool, dark, and quiet. The kids are entertained by the movies and it’s rarely crowded.

I love the spot between Aladdin and the Jungle Cruise. Shaded, cool benches.
