Did you know that the most Instagrammed location in the world is the Disneyland Resort?!? Last year alone “The Happiest Place on Earth” was tagged in over 14.6 million photos. With numbers like that, it’s no surprise that Disney has put so much time and attention into creating fun and unique photo locations and backdrops to encourage guests to keep sharing on their social media accounts. We’ve scouted out the brightest, cutest, and most Instagrammable photo spots celebrating all things Pixar for your photo taking enjoyment.
Pixar Fest Arch
The Paradise Gardens area in Disney California Adventure Park has been transformed into a fun and colorful location to celebrate Pixar Fest. The arch located at the entrance of Paradise Gardens is brightly decorated with images of many of our beloved Pixar Pals as well as the Luxo Ball. Place your subjects just under the arch and snap away for some super cute photos. If you arrive early enough you might even be able to capture a photo with a crowd-free background.
The World of Pixar
If you’re a Coco fan be sure to stop by The World of Pixar area, also in Paradise Gardens. Here you will find sculpted displays of Miguel, Dante, and Hector as well as movie posters from some of your favorite Pixar movies.
Paradise Garden Pavilion
The Paradise Garden Pavilion happens to be our favorite Pixar Fest photo spot!! It’s brightly decorated with Luxo Balls and multi-colored shapes, making it a great location to photo Pixar Fest merchandise, food, and of course people. This is also the Pixar Pals meet and greet location. Pixar Pals including: Mike, Sully, Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Mr. & Mrs. Incredible, Dug, Carl, and Russell rotate throughout the day. We highly recommend arriving early as the line can get quite long.
Annual Pass (AP) Corner
Also located in Paradise Gardens, AP Corner has an exclusive photo wall for Disneyland Annual Passholders photo taking enjoyment. If you’re an AP be sure to stop by for a photo and to pick up your specially themed Pixar Fest decal. Click here to read about the Pixar Fest AP Perks.
Cars Land Sign
Celebrate Pixar Fest in Cars Land with the adorable Toy Story inspired mini-cars. We recommend taking photos at this location early in the morning or later in the afternoon as it faces directly into the sun, making it tough for little ones and adults alike to keep their eyes open.
Cars/ Pixar Mashup Movie Poster Wall
If you happen to be in Cars Land stop by the wall located next to Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree to take some photos and enjoy the creativity and cuteness of the Cars/ Pixar Mashup Movie Poster Wall.
Knick’s Knacks
It might seem a bit odd that we are recommending a merchandise location as a photo spot, but located inside Knick’s Knacks is a hidden gem. If you’re on your way to Toy Story Mania head over to Knick’s Knacks on Pixar Pier to take a photo in front of the Pixar concept art wall.
Pixar Fest Signs at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park Gates
Located just above the entrance gates to both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park, the fun and unique Pixar Fest signs are a great way to commemorate this special celebration.
Main Street U.S.A. Train Station
The Main Street U.S.A Train Station not only welcomes guests into the park but it is also beautifully decorated with Mickey Mouse in flowers and Pixar Fest bunting.
Shops and Buildings of Main Street U.S.A.
The shops and buildings of Main Street U.S.A. are also adorned with Pixar Fest bunting and make for great photo backdrops, especially if you manage to angle your camera so that it looks like no one is around.
Honorable Mention
Alien Pizza Planet (aka Pizza Port)
The Zurg-inspired statue in Tomorrowland is an Instagram-worthy spot submitted by reader Rachael Hokunani! We love kids in costume and this little guy, rocking his Buzz Lightyear suit, clearly means serious business when it comes to battling Zurg!
