The holiday season is just around the corner and with it come three fantastic Disney movies I cannot wait to see.
“Frozen,” (opens November 27) is an animated movie that is slated to be a comedy-adventure for the entire family. When a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, Anna (voice of Kristen Bell), a fearless optimist, teams up with extreme mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his sidekick reindeer Sven on an epic journey to find Anna’s sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), the Snow Queen, and put an end to her icy spell. Encountering mystical trolls, an amazing and comedic snowman named Olaf, Everest-like conditions and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction.
Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” (opening November 8)continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. To defeat an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor sets upon his most dangerous and personal journey yet, forced into an alliance with the treacherous Loki to save not only his people and those he loves…but our universe itself.
“Saving Mr. Banks” (opening December 20) is the story behind the making of the Walt Disney film Mary Poppins. I can’t remember the last
time I was so excited for a movie and once you see this trailer, I’m sure you will agree. This movie has something for every type of Disney fan–from a vintage look at the Disneyland Resort as Walt Disney (played by Tom Hanks) takes Pamela Travers (played by Emma Thompson) enjoy a day at the park together, to the Sherman brothers crafting the music for the film and much, much more. I’ve seen the trailer several times and cry every time.
Which Disney movie are you looking forward to most this holiday season?
