Jumpin’ Jellyfish is a kid-friendly ride that is located on Paradise Pier close to Ariel’s Under Sea Adventure. Guests are seated on a “bench” beneath brightly colored jellyfish and are launched 40 feet into the air. The jellyfish “jump”at different intervals from twelve different launch pads. Each jellyfish holds two jumpers. There is a height requirement of 40 inches or taller.
Although this attraction may not be a favorite for guests with a fear of heights, it is the perfect attraction for introducing kids to the concept of the “thrill ride.” For many children, the idea of going on an “adult ride” can be really frightening, but Jumpin’ Jellyfish provides parents the opportunity to introduce the concept of a more “thrilling” attraction without the big bumps or turbulence of an attraction like Space Mountain or even Gadget’s Go Coaster.
Rebecca’s son Dash really did like the ride, just not the picture after! |
Jumpin’ Jellyfish’s calm, smooth ride, beautiful view of Disney California Adventure Park and shaded queue area make it a winner for kids and families alike. Just note that it does close early because of World of Color and may not be appropriate for guests who are afraid of heights.
Tips for guests with special needs: Guests in wheelchairs will need to transfer to the ride. Because wait is usually short, using a guest assistance card is typically not necessary. It is important to note that guests using a guest assistance card may have to wait in the full sun while standing at the exit.
