Monday Must Have: Baby Sherpa Backpack

July 26, 2010 in All Posts, babies & toddlers, favorite products, review, Tips & Tricks for Families by Lisa Robertson
For today’s Monday Must Have, I am happy to share with you a Alpha Sherpa backpack by Baby Sherpa.  I have been using this backpack for outings for about a month and love how it allows me to be organized on the go.
What makes this product great?
The Alpha Sherpa allows parents with a lot of baby necessities to keep everything they need organized while on the go.  There is a product for everything and an insulated cooler at the base.  Check out some of these features:
Pockets to keep things organized.  There are two zipper openings for the main section of the backpack so that you can go straight to where you need to go in the bag without having to fish around.
Insulated cooler at the base of the bag.  I think this would be ideal not just Disneyland, but for families hiking/walking around  national/state parks.
Great side pockets for electronics.  They are easy to grab when you need them fast!
This extra insulated bottle
cooler is removable and
perfect for a baby bottle or a
pick me up for Mommy.
Why is the Alpha Sherpa great for trips to Disneyland?
  • If you are traveling by plane, this backpack is a great carry-on piece and even provides a safe place for your laptop and baby items.  It also comes with a diaper changing pad which fits in the same space as the laptop.  I like the idea of carrying the changing pad in the laptop pocket (sans laptop) since the pad comes in contact with so many nasty germs.  The laptop pocket keeps the pad stashed away from all of your other items.
  • I love the specific insulated bottle cooler (which is removable).  Since I don’t need it for a bottle, I use it to keep my coffee drink cold because sometimes Mommy needs a pick me up.
  • The bag is comfortable to wear.  I found it easy to also hang around my stroller’s handles.
  • Although I have not had the backpack long enough to discuss how it holds up long term, it seems to be very strong and well made with lots of reinforcement around the handles and such.
The backpack easily fit over my stroller’s
handle.  Notice the extra padding on the
back of the backpack.  So comfortable!
Were there any drawbacks?
Perhaps the only drawback (if you can really consider this a “drawback”), is that the backpack can get pretty heavy if you decide to fill the insulated cooler section with heavy food items like cans of soda and the like.  The weight is what you make of it and I think this bag would be perfect for Disneyland Dads who don’t want to carry a girly diaper bag but like to be prepared for everything a full day of fun can throw their way!
Buy It!
You can purchase the Alpha Sherpa (retails for $109) or one of the other bags in the Baby Sherpa line by going to the Baby Sherpa website.  You can also check out this video with even more details and information on the bag.

Don’t forget that today (July 26) is the last day to enter to win the ERGObaby carrier!  There’s lots of ways to enter.  Make sure to leave a comment for each entry.  Click here to go to the review and giveaway.

This was not a paid post and honest opinions were used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. Thank you to Baby Sherpa who supplied me with the Alpha Sherpa backpack for this review.
