Last weekend, we packed up the boys and met up with my parents to enjoy a fun day at Knott’s Berry Farm. This was our first Knott’s trip and we had an absolutely fantastic time!
Knott’s Berry Farm is known to teens and adults for its Halloween Haunt, but what you may not know is that during the day, Knott’s is an outstanding place for families during the Halloween season with trick-or-treating throughout Camp Spooky (Camp Snoopy), crafts and a Halloween-themed show and parade. The Camp Spooky Halloween fun is included with park admission and is intended for children ages 3 to 11. Many children dressed in costumes, but it’s fun even for kids who don’t. (We opted for no costumes because we thought the weather was going to be warm and the boys’ costumes are heavy this year.)
Check out our family pictures of our Camp Spooky experience!
I am happy to report that we found the park to be clean, safe and a lot of fun. We experienced virtually no lines on any of the attractions and the Peanuts characters were absolutely charming. The entire park was decked out for Halloween, but surprisingly there was nothing too terribly scary out during the day considering how intense Knott’s is after dark at the Halloween Haunt.
We had a lot of fun exploring Knott’s Berry Farm. In addition to the great “kid” rides in Camp Snoopy, the boys LOVED the Timber Mountain Log Ride and Calico Mine Train. Brandon, our middle son, has not stopped talking about how we got held up on the Calico Railroad. We took our time exploring Ghost Town, had a sit-down (table service) meal at the Ghost Town Grille, and devoured one of Knott’s amazing boysenberry funnel cakes. (My heart will always belong to Knott’s when it comes to funnel cakes. Sorry, Disneyland.) My husband and dad even had a chance to take in a thrill ride or two.
If you are looking for a wonderful family activity this Halloween season, I highly recommend heading down to Knott’s, where the Halloween fun will be going on through October 30.
Disclosure: We received complimentary admission to Knott’s for the day. To be perfectly honest, if I had paid to go for the day, I would have been just as happy!!! It was the perfect family day. 🙂
