Taking little kids into Disneyland, and the mass of people inside it, can be nerve-wracking for some parents – it certainly seems like it would be easy to lose a child in the crowd. Here are a few things you can do to prepare for the *fingers-crossed* unlikely event that you and your child would be separated:
1. Take a head-to-toe picture of your child on your phone (or some other device that you’ll have with you) the morning of your visit. That way you’ll have the most up-to-date picture of your child to show Cast Members, and knowing what clothes they have on can really help in spotting them.

2. Safety pin your phone number into the back of their shirt, or inside their pocket. If you want to get a little fancier you can laminate a card or use a plastic luggage tag attached to their belt loop with information on how to contact you. (See #5.)

3. Point out Cast Members to your kids so they will know who to look for to tell if they are lost; you can even introduce them to a Cast Member if it would help your children feel more comfortable approaching them. Be sure if you tell your child to look for a name tag that they look for a WHITE name tag, as guests can purchase commemorative name tags in other colors.
5. Children who are lost at the Disneyland Resort are automatically taken to Lost Children located in the Baby Care Centers at Disneyland or Disney California Adventure Park. If your child has a phone number on him or if she or he knows your number, you will be quickly contacted. If your child is missing, a Cast Member can contact Lost Children on your behalf to see if your child is there waiting for you.
Our kids would frequently lose the little paper we would put in their pockets with our cell phone number, or the safety pin would fail, etc. We started writing our cell number on the inside of their forearm in pen or sharpie. Maybe not the most refined solution, but it works! Thankfully we’ve never had to use it.
Great source of help to me as I plan my toddlers first trip! I have found that making temporary tattoos with my number etc a big help. The kids think its fun to wear a “tattoo” and it gives me piece of mind. Printable Tattoo paper can be found at any craft store or Walmart.
