Children young and old love the Christmas Fantasy Parade with its cast of Disney characters and holiday icons. The parade gives families a time to rest and spend time with one another in the midst of a very busy Disneyland day. Personally, I prefer to find a place along Main Street to sit. I have always had really good luck getting a great spot right in front of the Disney Opera house located next to the Disney Gallery. Ideally I like to be in front of the Emporium or City Hall, but I don’t like to sit and wait for an hour before the parade. If you can swing it and get a reservation, the Carnation restaurant on Main Street is a great place to dine and watch the parade go by. Restaurant reservations are available by calling (714) 781-DINE. Guests can also get a special reserved seat for the parade if they participate in the holiday guided tour offered by the Guest Relations Department. You can find out more about the tour, what it includes, and its costs by calling (714) 781-4400.
Dressed in it’s winter best, Sleeping Beauty Castle is magically transformed into a snow-capped vision of fantasy both day and night. And while visiting Sleeping Beauty Castle, don’t forget to visit the renovated castle walk-through in order to experience the castle firsthand.
The “I Believe in Holiday Magic” fireworks show is a great way to cap off a great day at Disneyland (if your children are still awake). Just before the fireworks begin, the lights dim on Main Street and the air fills with After the fireworks end, “snow” falls on Main Street. I’ll just come out and admit it is so beautiful that I cried the first time I experienced it.
“it’s a small world” holiday
This attraction is a long-standing holiday favorite at the Disneyland Resort. During the holiday season, “it’s a small world” is transformed into a joyous holiday celebration not to be missed. Here’s a short video of what you can expect to see in the attraction.
In September of each year, the Haunted Mansion is taken over by Jack Skellington and all of his friends from Halloween Town. This is a huge fan favorite and often gets a long line early in the day.
At Big Thunder Ranch, kids of all ages can see Santa’s reindeer and meet Santa and Mrs. Claus. I have experienced one of my greatest Disneyland moments with my family at the roundup. It’s priceless!
