The Knott’s Boysenberry Festival is in its third year and has quickly become a beloved Southern California tradition, with incredible food, entertainment and springtime fun for the entire family. The fun is going on now through April 8!
The Food
Food is king at the Boysenberry Festival. There is deep-fried cheesecake with boysenberry topping on a stick, a boysenberry fun bun (think cinnamon roll with boysenberry yumminess) and so much more.
With so many amazing boysenberry delights – sweet and savory – you are going to want to try EVERYTHING! The best deal around is the Boysenberry Festival tasting card.
The card allows guests to purchase eight “tastings” for $30. With some of the individual tastings costing as much as $8.49 each, the card is a real bargain. Plus, you can use your card on anything on the list as many times as you want, as you don’t have to get one of each item. For example, you can spend three of your tasting tabs on three servings of the same thing. It is important to note that these tastings aren’t just a couple of bites; they are all healthy portions, as seen in the photos below.
All of the food available on the tasting card is amazing. My personal favorite was the boysenberry sausage on a bun. My kids loved the boysenberry perogies, boysenberry chicken wings and boysenberry coconut macaroons. We loved the chicken wings so much that we bought a bottle of boysenberry BBQ sauce before heading home!
The food is prepared while-you-watch at stands throughout Knott’s, which allows for you to ask for limited customization (i.e. no or light sauce, etc.).
The Entertainment
Not to be outdone by the food at the Boysenberry Festival, the entertainment is a lot of fun for the entire family. Little ones love Snoopy’s Boysenberry Jamboree at the Calico Mine Stage with lots of music and dancing.
Over in the iconic Bird Cage Theatre, there is a special, limited time “Old Time Melodrama” with a surprising boysenberry twist.
For music lovers, Orange County’s favorite bluegrass bank, Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies, performs at the Wagon Camp stage.
The Fun
All of the traditional Knott’s fun is also available – from incredible thrill rides to photos with the Peanuts characters, many of which are decked out for spring.
I am a huge fan of the crafts festival that pops up for the Boysenberry Festival. It is a fun departure from regular theme park shopping.
Another fun addition to the Knott’s for the Boysenberry Festival is the Build Your Own Mini Boysenberry Pie activity. A great activity for kids interested in cooking and total departure from normal theme park activities.
The Boysenberry Festival is going on now through April 8. Make sure not to miss out on the food and fun. You can learn more about the Boysenberry Festival and all of the Season of Fun throughout the year on the Knott’s Berry Farm website.
Thank you, Knott’s, for inviting my family to come savor the Boysenberry Festival!
