If there’s one thing you can’t miss at Disneyland, it’s nametags. Of course, all the Cast Members wear them. Many ride vehicles have names painted on them (think Jungle Cruise, Snow White‘s Scary Adventure, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, the Disneyland Railroad, etc.). But here are three places you may not expect to find names:
1. Tilly – In front of the Main Street Cinema is a ticket booth, and inside that booth is a “ticket seller” figure named Tilly. Have you ever noticed her nametag when you walked by (or better, went in)? The Imagineers didn’t have to give her that nametag, but their attention to detail means they did it anyway!
2. The Horse-Drawn Streetcars – Often, though not always, the horses on Main Street have their own name tags. You can also see their names when you’re riding the streetcar. Just look at the roof, right behind the driver.
3. King Arthur Carrousel – There are 68 horses that gallop and prance around the circle, and every single one has a name. You won’t find tags on these horses, but you can ask for a list from City Hall. Perhaps the most easily-recognized is Jingles, the lead horse. Jingles was dedicated to Julie Andrews, and is decorated with images from Mary Poppins. See if you can find him next time you’re there!
For you to discover: On Tilly’s nametag, her home town is listed as “Marceline, MO.” What is the significance of that town?
