The Disneyland 60th Diamond Celebration kicks off with the big 24-hour event on May 22. But… guess what? We will begin bringing your your first looks at EVERYTHING happening for the 60th starting bright and early on May 20.
As special invited guests to Disneyland’s exclusive media event, we have incredible access to Disneyland and Resort executives due to our long-standing relationships and earned trust as a noted source for Disney information. Here is just a taste of what we will be covering:
- Disneyland Diamond Celebration Merchandise Event
- Premiere of World of Color Celebrate (Wednesday night)
- Premiere of Paint the Night parade and Disneyland Forever (Thursday night)
- New in-park merchandise releases
- First look at the incredible foods that will be served during the Diamond Celebration
- The new decor throughout the resort.
- Plus, because you’ve asked, we’re doing something we’ve never done before. We will be posting behind-the-scenes coverage of what it take for us to bring you the news. We know that blog readers and diehard Disney fans will love this unique look at the life of a Disney news outlet.
We will be “broadcasting the news, photos and video as it happens on all of our social media channels. Here’s how:
Facebook
We know that most readers prefer following along with us on Facebook. We prefer Facebook too because we LOVE the conversations that happen; however, Facebook doesn’t like us when we post too much. Allow me to explain. Facebook controls what people see and weighs each post fan pages put up. If we put up too many posts too frequently, Facebook begins to give them less “weight” and in return our readers actually see LESS of our coverage. For that reason, we will likely try to limit our posts on Facebook to once every three hours. Because we can’t (shouldn’t) post as much (or as often as we like) we will be very selective with what we do post and will focus on the very best content for this platform. On Wednesday and Thursday night, while we are at the premieres of World of Color and Paint the Night and Disneyland Forever, we may post more than every three hours if we just can’t help ourselves.
As far as Facebook goes, in order to make sure you can see as many of our posts as possible you need to do two things:
1. Be sure that you like us on Facebook! Click here and click the like button.
2. Once you’ve liked our page, hover over the like button and make sure you are “Following” the blog. If you “follow” us, there is a better chance our posts will show up in your Facebook news feed. If you check off “Get Notifications,” you will be taking your Disney love for the next level and Facebook will notify you every time we post to our page.
Instagram
We will be posting photos to Instagram A LOT. If you have an Instagram account, this will be your best bet for staying up-to-date on news as it happens. We will be using the Babes In Disneyland Instagram account for the Disneyland news. On our personal accounts, we will be posting our behind-the-scenes footage and some of the news as it happens (because sometimes there just isn’t enough time to switch back and forth). If you aren’t already on Instagram, an account is free and you don’t have to be active on Instagram to follow us. Heck, you don’t even have to have a public account!
Instagram in a nutshell:
1. Follow “Babes In Disneyland” by clicking here. Again, this account will focus on the latest news as it happens.
2. Follow my account (Lisa Robertson) by clicking here and Kendra’s account by clicking here. We will be showing the behind-the-scenes action shots of the Disneyland Diamond Celebration on our personal accounts and also show you what it takes for us to bring you the news. I think this is going to be a really fun sneak peek for our blog fans and Disneyland fans alike.
Twitter
If you are a Twitter fiend, here is how our Twitter coverage will play out:
- My Twitter account (@Dlandmom), will feature all of the posts posted to the Babes In Disneyland Facebook page, all of the photos posted to the Babes In Disneyland Instagram and links to SOME (not all) of the posts from my personal Instagram account. It may also feature breaking news info that we learn in press conferences and events that is not shared on Facebook or Instagram. Click here to follow me on Twitter.
- Kendra’s Twitter account (@KendraKuske) will feature links to SOME (not all) of her Instagram posts. Click here to follow Kendra on Twitter.
YouTube
We will be shooting videos at the Disneyland Resort throughout the event and posting them to YouTube as quickly as possible. Once those videos are posted to YouTube, we will share the links on Twitter. We will also include them in blog posts.
Here’s how you can be among the first to see our videos:
1. Head over to the Babes In Disneyland YouTube Channel by clicking here.
2. Click “Subscribe.” You will be notified every time we post a video.
The Blog!
Are you still reading this super long post? Good, because now you have gotten to the most important part! When we’re reporting the latest and greatest, we can only say so much in a Facebook, Twitter or Instagram post, so here on the blog will be the source with the most complete news, information, videos and photos. Our goal is to post as frequently as possible throughout the event–even if it means we are up at midnight getting things uploaded and out to all of you. We will promote the new posts on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+. (You can follow me on Pinterest and Google+ so that you are kept in the loop.)
There are two other ways to find out about our blog posts quickly and easily.
1. Sign up for our RSS Feed by clicking here.
2. Sign up to have our posts delivered to your email inbox each morning. We only send emails when we’ve published something within the last 24 hours, otherwise we leave you alone. We also promise that we will not share your info with anyone else! Click here to have our posts delivered to your inbox. Please note that this is a new mailing list. If you signed up for our list in the past, you will need to sign up again.
So there you have it! We will be bringing you a whole lot of exclusives and a look at everything the Diamond Celebration has to offer starting early in the morning May 20 all the way through the 24-hour event!
