Below is just a sampling of what you can expect to find this year at the Disneyland Resort. I will be reporting the news of food, merchandise and special surprises that have not yet been announced as they become available so stay tuned!
Disneyland
As usual, Disneyland will be decking its halls, attractions and pretty much everything else for the holiday season with beautiful holiday decor. From trees to lights to wreaths everything in between, those Disney decorators are working their after-hours magic to bring the whimsy of the holiday season to park guests. Special attractions and events for this holiday season include:
- “it’s a small world” Holiday brings together the beauty of the “small world” message and peace and goodwill of the holiday season into one, and I’m not going to lie: I LOVE it! If you haven’t experienced “it’s a small world” at the holidays, it is an absolute must! You can learn a bit about it in this video:
- Haunted Mansion Holiday isn’t just a big draw at Halloween Time at Disneyland. It continues to be a guest favorite throughout the holiday season. Stay tuned for a fun post tomorrow all about Haunted Mansion Holiday!
- Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle is a sight to behold, covered in snow and perfect for family photos.
- “Believe…in Holiday Magic” fireworks is a special fireworks presentation just for the holidays and is followed by snowfall on Main Street, U.S.A., New Orleans Square and “it’s a small world” mall.
- The Jingle Cruise will be back this year with a holiday-themed cruise down the rivers of the world.
- “A Christmas Fantasy” parade will be presented daily, with Disney characters celebrating the holidays and a special appearance by Santa Claus who, through Dec. 24, will also be greeting guests and listening to holiday wishes at Big Thunder Ranch. Every year, I can honestly tell you that the parade is the one thing I need to kick off my holiday spirit. I am getting excited just thinking about seeing it! Once I see it, that’s it! It’s Christmas time, baby!!!
Disney California Adventure
When it comes to holiday time, Disney California Adventure is not outdone by Disneyland. The decorating Cast Members have put it into overdrive to make sure Cars Land, Buena Vista Street and the rest of the park are decorated in a way only Disney can dream up. If you haven’t seen the Cars-themed decor in Cars Land, it is not to be missed. Other notable attractions and events in Disney California Adventure will include:
- “World of Color – Winter Dreams,” which is returning
to Disney California Adventure
after its successful 2013 debut. The show is hosted by Olaf the snowman from Walt Disney Pictures’ hit animated feature “Frozen” and features classic winter scenes from such beloved Disney films as “Bambi,” “Fantasia,” “Toy Story” and, of course, “Frozen.”
- Buena Vista Street is one of my favorite places to shop for holiday gifts and goodies at the Disneyland Resort and at holiday time, I love that the Christmas decorations are themed to match with the time period of the shops. My kids’ favorite place to visit Santa is at Elias & Co. where the line is usually quite short. Want to “nerd out” and learn HOW they decorate Buena Vista Street? You will love this exclusive video on the magic.
- “Disney ¡Viva Navidad!” at Paradise Gardens in Disney California Adventure is a daily celebration inspired by the warmth and joyous spirit of Latino culture and holiday traditions, with festive music and dancing, vibrant colors, delicious food, Disney character appearances and the lively “Disney Viva Navidad! Street Party.”
