Update: The next Pinup Parade is October 18, 2015.
If you were at Disneyland yesterday, you likely saw us: hundreds of women dressed up in vintage-inspired clothing all over the park taking way too many pictures and smiling from ear to ear. Yesterday was the Pinup Parade, hosted by Pinup Girl Clothing, a company specializing in bomb-shell gorgeous, vintage-inspired clothing. They have a huge online following and flagship store in my Burbank neighborhood. Pinup Girl makes clothes for gals of all shapes and sizes and celebrates the curves and beauty of all women with fashions that flatter all body types.
Yesterday’s event brought together hundreds Pinup Girl fans wearing–most wearing the brand’s clothes and others wearing their own creations–to Disneyland. I know what you’re thinking: It’s a lot like Dapper Day, right? The answer to that is “yes” and “no.” Yes: they both celebrate getting dressed up and heading to Disneyland in vintage-inspired clothing. Where they differ is that event if more female-focused and celebrates more of the bombshell, pinup look featured in most of Pinup Girl’s clothing. Also unique are the meetups in which Pinup Girl’s lovely Doris and Micheline hosted trivia contests with incredible store/website credit giveaways.
In a nutshell, here is what you need to know if you want to attend a Pinup Parade meetup at Disneyland:
- Follow Pinup Girl on Facebook so you will be “in the loop” about all of their fun events–including those in their store, on the road and at Disneyland.
- Get yourself a rockin’ vintage-inspired outfit! Pinup Girl has an outstanding selection, many of which are perfect for Disney Bounding and can be worn for other events, like Dapper Day. (Check out my full article on Disney Bounding with their clothes.)
- Get admission to the parks if you don’t already have an annual pass.
- Check the website for meetup times so that you can take part in the big group photo, goodie bag handout and trivia contest.
- Bring a fully charged camera with tons of space because you’ll be taking oodles of pics.
- As tough as it may be when you are dressed up, be sure to bring comfy shoes.
- Get ready to have fun and meet some really nice gals who love to dress up and have a great time! This is an especially fun “girls’ day out” at Disneyland. I highly recommend getting your best girls together for the next one and go together–sans kids and hubbies. I went with my friend Mindy and had a blast!
You can see more pics from my Pinup Parade fun on the Babes In Disneyland Instagram account and my personal Instagram account.
Thank you to my friend Mindy (featured in the title image at the top of this post) who blogs at Budget Fairy Tale and Inspired by Dis for taking lots of pics for me once my phone ran out of room!

I saw you at the Haunted Mansion Trivia! I really love your cream and peach floral dress, such a pretty one. (The pictures online never do the prints justice, in my opinion.) This was my first Pinup Parade in the Park, and barely getting into vintage inspired dressing so I’m not all that comfortable dressing up–I feel like I’m wearing (a very pretty) costume sometimes when I wear them out, but I felt at ease because everyone is so friendly and nonjudgmental–what an amazing community these ladies have formed. I especially loved seeing how creative the participants were with their Disneybounding outfits, and how each lady styled her dress/outfit. I had an amazing time! 🙂
Thanks for sharing your experience, I enjoyed reading 🙂

I agree that the community of women at the event are all so lovely and amazing. No judgement at all. It’s so much fun to get dressed up for the day. For me, after “momming it” day in and day out, putting on a dress with a big skirt is so refreshing and actually makes me feel a bit more grounded–a bit more me! I hope you keep going to the Pinup Parades in the future. Next time, please come up and say, “hello!” I love meeting our readers!

It’s always fun hanging out with you at Disneyland, Lisa! Hopefully there are plenty more Pinup Parades in our future.

WOW! Thanks so much for the spectacular views on Sunday!
I just happen to be visiting Disneyland on the 26th and was overwhelmed by the parade of beautiful ladies and the gorgeous outfits. I just wanted to say that you girls made my ordinary day at the park so much more special. Seriously, you all were spectacular! I’m ashamed to say that I rarely reach out to compliment people on what they wear, but in this case, it’s mandatory. Walking amongst you and, in many cases, your equally well dressed men, I felt woefully inadequate and wished I had dressed better.
Keep up the good work and perhaps next time I’ll follow suit.
