Disneyland Dreams and Me

October 6, 2011 in All Posts, babes in disneyland, personal by Babes in Disneyland
Disney made my dream of reporting on camera come true!
Meeting Marcy and Suz, is definitely one of the best
things about working with Disney.

In 1998, I walked out the Harbor House gate for the last time with a lump in my throat and my last paycheck paying out my unused vacation time. Back then, I thought I would never have a relationship with Disneyland again. I left so that I could grow professionally, but even with a great job and bright future ahead of me, I still felt like I was leaving a piece of myself behind that day at the Disneyland employee entrance.

My kids even got to meet the
astronauts from the last shuttle
mission courtesy of Disney!
My trip to Walt Disney World was a wonderful
dream come true!
Flash forward to 2007. I was on maternity leave and felt like I needed a project–as if handling two children under 3 wasn’t enough. Babes In Disneyland was born on a “Google page” and the rest is history. Today, with my book and blog, I have realized Disney dreams I could have never imagined…ever. From getting to go behind-the-scenes at the Disney Studios to attending amazing events at the Disneyland Resort and beyond, Babes reunited Disneyland and me. Clearly, our love affair was never intended to end.

Perhaps even more amazing are the people whom I have met through my blog. I have met many of my readers–online and in person.  I cannot even begin to tell you how honored I am that people actually read what I write. Every comment blows my mind and fills me with pride.
And then there’s my fellow Disneyland and Walt Disney World fans and bloggers who have become my extended family. You are all such dear friends and continually raise the bar with your professionalism and dedication. Thank you for your encouragement and for always pushing me to be better.

When I describe my Disneyland blog and book to people, I often say that it’s a hobby that’s grown way out of control, but really when it comes down to it, it’s all a dream come true. A wonderful dream come true. I would like to thank all of you joining me in the my dream and promise you that there’s many more great things to come!

You have created one the most informative and accurate Disney sites on the net. Your enthusiasm and passion for Disney comes thru with every word. I remember the MOMENT I met you. And I also remember thinking ‘ugh. she is too adorable and too nice. I must learn to hate her” and yet….I love you. You are dear friend and ‘business’ partner. I too am grateful for all Disney has brought into my life and you are the top of that list 🙂
