Beginning May 22nd, in honor of the Disneyland Resort’s Diamond Celebration, both Disney California Adventure Park (DCA) and Disneyland with feature several new food and beverage offerings. While attending yesterday’s Media Preview Lisa and I were able to sample many of the specialty drinks and also a few of the sweet treats and let me just say – be prepared to be amazed!
We learned that in honor of the momentous occasion 12 new specialty drinks have been created and will be sold throughout the parks and will be themed according to where they are sold. Some of these drinks include:
The Monstro Blue Lemonade from Village Haus that can be purchased with or without a glowing blue ice cube. (Please note that the sizes here were the samples we drank from and are not the actual sizes.) This super sweet drink is made from all-natural frozen Odwalla lemonade that is flavored with cotton candy and topped with whip cream.
Wild Raspberry Rapids Frozen Lemonade from White Water Snacks
Enchanted Cherry Apple Frozen Lemonade from Troubadour Tavern
Party Wave Lemonade from PCH Grill was Lisa’s personal favorite. This wonderful drink made with Odwalla lemonade flavored with banana and coconut and topped with Sprite, whipped cream and garnished with dark chocolate shavings and a sugar-glazed, honey infused baked banana slice.
My personal favorite thus far the Lucky Fortune Tea from Lucky Fortune Cookery in DCA. The Lucky Fortune Tea features Gold Peak Iced Tea sweetened with passion fruit and mango flavors topped with a yummy passion fruit-mango foam. It was sweet and refreshing and reminded me of my favorite Aulani drink, the Lilikoi’lada (sans alcohol).
Honey Bee Frozen Lemonade at the Hungry Bear Restaurant
Another one of Lisa’s favorite from our recent media event, was this Frozen Pomegranate Silver Sparkler at Jolly Holiday Bakery. The silver sparkles are too pretty to sip! (This drink is a much darker red in person.)
Also, when the Diamond Celebration kicks off both parks will feature a specialty cupcake. The Disneyland cupcake will feature a lemon cake with strawberry filling and a champagne flavored icing while the DCA cupcake will feature an orange cake with a mixed-fruit filling and a champagne flavored icing. These flavors are quite deliberate and are intended to mimic popular flavor profiles of past decades. Available a the Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe and Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe respectively, these cupcakes are a must try and make for excellent photo opportunities too!
Do you notice anything special about the cupcake designs? The cupcake for the Jolly Holiday Bakery is designed to look Victorian and the cupcake for the Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe is design to look art deco.
Not only are the drinks and treats amazing, but so too are the containers, cups, and other special touches that the food will be served in. Guests who purchase the Monstro Blue Lemonade will be able to make their drink dazzle by purchasing a light up glow cube. Additionally, there will be steins, supper sipper mugs, and glowing cups available for purchase. One of my favorite Disneyland Resort snacks is the warm, buttery popcorn. As such, I cannot wait to collect all three Mickey balloon shaped popcorn buckets!
We can’t wait to see what else is in store for the celebration, and will be providing up to the minute information via the Babes in Disneyland Blog, Facebook, and Instagram. Be sure to follow us for more Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration information, tips, and photos!
Cheers to a happy 60th!
