Eating healthy isn’t always eating while away on vacation. Between convenience foods on the go and eating out at restaurants and fast food chains, chicken nuggets can become their own food group.
Luckily, the Disneyland Resort makes it easy to find healthy food alternatives throughout the parks. The Walt Disney Company overall is dedicated to healthy eating by providing healthy food alternatives at all of its parks and resorts. They have even taken it a step further with its TryIt campaign that encourages families to live a healthier lifestyle.
To make finding nutritional foods even easier, Disney has developed the Mickey Check, This special icon on Disney food products in grocery stores nationwide and on select kids’ meals and fruit carts throughout Walt Disney World and Disneyland let’s you know that the foods meet Disney Nutrition Guidelines. The Nutrition Guidelines were developed to align with federal dietary guideline recommendations. Learn more about the guidelines.
Now back to how this helps you while you are on vacation. The good folks at the Disneyland Resort have put together a handy guide for finding healthy food options for the kiddos while visiting the parks. Click here to download your own copy of the Mickey Check Kids Menu Items List for the Disneyland Resort. I encourage you to print out this post and bring it with you on your next Disneyland trip!
And…once your kiddos have all of that healthy food in their bellies, maybe splurge on a yummy candy apple ’cause that’s sort of healthy, right?!

I am so impressed with the healthy initiatives Disney has rolled out over the past 5 years. Parents now have the option of controlling their children’s intake of fat, salt and sugar while on vacation. Only a mom or dad knows how exactly how many Mickey Premium Bars their kids can tolerate!!
