My headline is in caps because it is so exciting! Here are some pictures taken at Cars Land in Disney California Adventure today, October 29, 2010. Today, was the “Topping Out Ceremony” in Cars Land, a tradition that dates back to the Vikings. Although the custom has changed a bit, the tradition is long-standing among construction workers and engineers. It takes place when the highest piece of steel is installed on the frame of a building. The final beam is painted white and signed by the ironworkers, steel design engineer, and construction management. The highest piece of steel in the “Cadillac Range,” which will be a 125-foot-tall landmark in Cars Land, was put into place by members of the project’s construction team earlier this afternoon.

I forgot to tell you. That orange ball thing on the crane? The guys had it painted to look like a jack-o-lantern. How adorable and Disney is that???
