Today, it was announced on the Disney Parks blog that the Walt Disney World Moms Panel is now expanding to include the following:
- Walt Disney World Moms Panelists
- Disney Cruise Line Panelists
- Disneyland Panelists
- Adventures By Disney Panelists
- runDisney Panelists
- Disney Vacation Club Panelists
This is really exciting news and, quite frankly, something I thought would NEVER happen. Will you be applying for any of the panelists positions?
The application window will be open September 12 – 16, 2011. Click here for more details.

This has caused me a fair amount of stress this year. I’ve seen so much heartache over the Moms Panel selections over the past few years that I’m just not sure how I feel about it. I’ve applied twice and not made it past the first round. I have friends that have made it to the finals and all they were left with was days of tears and wondering why they weren’t good enough. Do I really want to go through it again? Probably.
I figure that as I did in the last two searches I’ll do my best on the questions and just pray that they find me interesting enough. I’ll also try to remember that just because the company doesn’t think I’m “the best choice” doesn’t mean I’m not a great Disney Mom in my own right.

I’m really glad you left this comment, Kristen. I just found out about this today and I’m already REALLY stressed out about it! I plan on applying and really want to represent Disneyland badly. It’s all I can think about and the applications aren’t until September!

Good luck! I have a work conflict the same week as the training, so I’m not even going to bother with the application… but I’ll live vicariously through everyone else – and cheer you all along!

I was *very* invested the first year that I applied and it was just crushing when I didn’t even make it to round two. I took writing classes that year with the hope of having a better application the second year, still didn’t make it to round two. This year at some point someone asked me if I was “the” DVC Mom, as in the panelist, and it was just horrific for me to have to say “No.”
Do your best, but you have to truly know in your heart of hearts that if you don’t go through, it’s not because you’re lacking. It’s because Disney has something very specific in mind that they’re looking for. I’m going to go for it again, I just really want to make it to round two. I’d be fine not to go past there (well, sorta) but I would like to believe that I’m at least interesting enough for them to want to see more from me. I figure that since I’m not the most “camera ready” person I probably wouldn’t make it to the end anyhow, they’ve been doing a lot of filming with the current moms.
The Moms Panel search really is a needle in a haystack, 20,000 applicants are accepted and only about 1% are picked. It’s sort of like winning the lottery if you think about it. In the end, all we can do is our best and just keep trying. I would be honored beyond belief for Disney to make me “the” official DVC Mom, after all, it’s who I am, right? ;D

I wish they had Disneyland Paris panelists 🙂 I’d be right in there! 😀
