Best Churros at the Disneyland Resort According to the Experts!

July 25, 2018 in All Posts, Big Kids, Cars Land, dining, disney california adventure, disneyland resort, Pixar Fest by Lisa Robertson

Churros are life! They are the perfect, portable Disneyland snack. We adore them in every way. We are also dedicated to bringing you the most important Disneyland news and information. When the Babes In Disneyland team recently started discussing our favorite new churro flavors, we thought it would be fun to share out thoughts with our readers AND bring in the opinions of other Disneyland experts around the web. Again, churros are LIFE, so this is important stuff! With our mission in hand, we took to email and direct messages and asked influencers near and far the following question:

What is the best churro flavor at the Disneyland Resort?

Carrot Cake Churro

Available in New Orleans Square in Disneyland

First, here’s my review of my fave.

The carrot cake churro is truly the churro taken to new heights. While alone it is a slightly more sugared version of the regular churro, once you add the carrot cake dipping sauce, the churro elevated to more than a snack, but a must-have dessert. Over the years I’ve eaten A LOT of desserts and sweet treats at the Disneyland Resort, and the carrot cake churro rates up there with the best of the best! In fact, my kids and I love it so much, we professed our love for it in an Instagram story during a recent visit. You can also check out our video review below our Carrot Cake Churro love letter.” – Lisa Robertson, Babes In Disneyland and Stars Hollow Mercantile

Favorite new churro is the carrot cake! The churro itself tastes like a regular flavored churro, but the cream cheese frosting dip makes all the difference. Add in the edible glitter for a lip-smacking, tastebud adventure in New Orleans Square and you’re literally golden (courtesy of said edible glitter).“ – Jessica Sanders,  The Happiest Blog on Earth

Cocoa Churro

Available in Frontierland in Disneyland

I consider myself a churro connoisseur so when the new churro flavors were introduced during Pixar Fest, I had to try them all! My favorite was the cocoa churro, hands down. It’s available at the Frontierland churro cart (near Rancho del Zocalo) and comes with a Mexican Hot Chocolate dipping sauce. Oh-Em-Gee! It tastes just like heaven!” – Mindy Marzec, Fairy Tale Life

Caliente Churro

Available at Senior Buzz in Pixar Pier in Disney California Adventure

I have never been a churro person. But when I tried the Caliente Churro from Senior Buzz’s my mind was BLOWN. Crunchy cinnamon candy + hot fluffy donuts = Heaven on Earth.” – Heidi Miller, Glamdom Fandom

Ok. So I know I said this post was everyone’s favorite churro… And by favorite, it implies that means it is the churro that is the BEST… And since “best” is a singular position in ranking, you can’t have more than one. Well… this is my blog, and I have “two bests.” Here is what I thought of the Caliente Churro:

Ashley loves digging in to the sweet, spicy Caliente Churro.

I tried the Ants on a Log, Carrot Cake, and Caliente Churros during our visit. While I enjoyed them all, the Ants on a Log and Carrot Cake churros weren’t that drastically different from the traditional cinnamon sugar goodnesses. For me, the Caliente Churro stood out as both out of the box and delicious! It wasn’t as spicy as I expected; it was like a delicious cinnamon candy. I’ve recommended the Caliente Churro to all my Disney-going friends already!” – Ashley Bortolussi, Long-time Babes In Disneyland Reader

The Ants on a Log Churro is my favorite…. the icing adds a little bit of sweetness and the coco crisps on it …. well as Timon would say, adds “a very pleasant crunch.” You can find them at the Bugs Land Churro cart at California Adventure and be shaded by giant clovers while you share churros with friends.” – Bobby Navarro, 100 Eats

I prefer the classic churro flavor over the fruity one, but adding donut icing and the Cocoa Puffs was a nice addition!” – Vy Spear, Babes In Disneyland and Vy Loves to Eat

Racer Churros

Available at the Cozy Cone

Channel your Pixar pals Lightning McQueen, Jackson Storm, or Cruz Ramirez and pick a winning ‘Racer Churro’ during Pixar Fest. Though they taste like your typical Disneyland churro, Cozy Cone Motel soups-up the fun with colored cinnamon sugar and sparkly sprinkles. Race on!” – Didi Marie, Post 50 Rx

Kevin’s Churro

Available in Town Square

Kevin’s Churro is inspired by the colorful bird dubbed Kevin in the Pixar movie “Up”. The churro is covered in lemon sugar and crushed fruity pebbles. You can find it at the churro cart in front of the Main Street Train Station.” – Jessica McConnel, Babes In Disneyland

Keep It Classic

Best Churros at the Disneyland ResortWhile I love to photograph my kids trying all of the new churro flavors with their brightly-colored, blinged-out sugar toppings, I myself, tend to be a churro purist.  For that reason, the Cinnamon Sugar Galaxy Churro at Señor Buzz’ Churro Cart is the perfect choice for me.  It’s the tried and true Disneyland Churro, rolled in cinnamon sugar, with the addition of some sparkly space dust.  Not only is it perfect for eating, but it’s also perfect for photographing.  Honorable mention goes to my kid’s favorite: the Coco Churro, which is rolled in a chocolate powder and salted cinnamon-sugar blend and served with Mexican Chocolate dipping sauce.  The Coco Churro can be found at the Frontierland Churro Cart.” – Kendra Kuske, Babes In Disneyland

While there are a million flavors of churros at the Parks (and the Coco one is a top contender) for me, nothing beats a classic Disney churro. That taste reminds me of warm days at the Park, grabbing a Churro near the Castle, and disappearing into Fantasyland for a few hours. We’re old school Disney lovers, so go for the classics whenever possible.” – Carly Anderson, Lipgloss & Crayons
