I use a Disney mug every day for my morning coffee, so that makes them a sensible investment…right? There’s a line of mugs that recently just hit Disney Parks shelves, and the instant I saw them, I knew I had to make one mine! Each mug represents a different princess or female villain in its ornate details. Pay close attention to the handles; each one is designed to reflect the character’s hair. I spent longer than I care to admit trying to decide between the Princess Aurora mug, with her pink dress on one side and blue dress on the other, and the Cinderella mug, which features a sparkling glass slipper. (In the end, I didn’t have to decide…my mom surprised me with the whole set of princess mugs for my birthday!)
I get a new Disneyland mug, pin, and Christmas ornament to commemorate every trip I take to Disneyland (and Walt Disney World), but I think my favorite and the most sentimental souvenir I have, and continue to get, are my silhouettes. It’s my favorite souvenir because I feel like I’m looking at a memory when I see it! It’s the perfect “snapshot in time” of a particular trip, it shows how old the kids were, what their hair looked like, and recalls other memories of taking them at that age. You can visit the Silhouette Studio on Main Street to get an individual or group silhouette made, it takes less than 5 minutes, and you get two for $9.00 (one for you to keep and one for your child to keep!).

I absolutely love the new line of Alex and Ani bangle bracelets that are exclusive to the Disney Parks. I usually buy 2-3 per trip and am now up to 10 bangles total. They are lightweight, fashionable, reasonably priced, and of course Disney themed, which is so fun. Alex and Ani has announced that a new Disney line will be available later this summer, so be on the look out for new designs (The bracelets are $39.95 each.)
I love souvenirs. Love them. Our family’s tradition is to buy a Christmas ornament anywhere we go on vacation. We bought a set to commemorate our trip to Walt Disney World and buy at least one per year from the Disneyland Resort. Last year I bought the Minnie Mouse tour guide ornament to commemorate our year and the fact that I used to be a tour guide.
I will say, however, that my favorite souvenir of all time was a glass mug a friend bought me from Arribas Brothers on Main Street when I was in junior high. It had Dopey engraved on one side and my name on the other. It was such an incredibly thoughtful gift and so special to me that I treasured it up until the day one of my children broke it a couple of months ago. I actually cried when I found it on the kitchen floor. There is nothing quite like a gift from Arribas Brothers because each is unique and special.
To this day, I’m still a sucker for the celebration pins that you can get from City Hall – from “Happily Ever After”, “It’s My Birthday,” and “Just Married!” They are available for everyone to enjoy and they can add a touch of magic to your visit – Cast Members notice when you’re wearing your pins and take an extra moment in their day to wish you a happy celebration. They’re so fun!
Those are our favorites. Now… share yours! We’d love to hear what you have to say!
