This week, we were asked what our favorite holiday treat to eat at the Disneyland Resort is…
My absolute favorite holiday dessert at the Disneyland Resort is the Yule Log cake. It’s an indulgent chocolate and cream swirl cake with a layer of ganache on the outside that looks like wood bark. It’s usually accented with frosting leaves, red and green sprinkles, a dusting of edible glitter and a dollop of whipped cream. I look forward to visiting Plaza Inn restaurant to enjoy this pretty treat all year long!
It’s probably no surprise that my favorite holiday treat are the gingerbread cookies that you can find all over the Disneyland Resort (even Marceline’s Confectionary in Downtown Disney) – I love how soft and thick they are – with just the right about of spice and the frosting is the perfect amount of sweetness. Plus, how much cuter can you get than a gingerbread man with Mickey ears? Now if I’d ever had one of those hard-to-come-by candy canes from Candy Palace, I might be changing my tune 😉
I completely second Courtney’s vote when it comes to my favorite holiday treat at the Disneyland Resort. The Yule Log Cake from the Plaza Inn is a must when we are visiting Disneyland during the holidays. The cake is both beautiful and delicious and is truly a decadent holiday treat.
My absolute favorite treat at holiday time at the Disneyland Resort are the gingerbread cookies. There is no gingerbread on the planet that compares. The cookies are soft and chewy but not too soft or too chewy. The gingerbread has just the right amount of sweet and the right amount of kick from the ginger. In short: they are PERFECT.
I’m a big fan of the gingerbread beignets when they make an appearance at The Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square – paired with a hot cocoa and it’s the perfect addition to a not-quite-blistery Anaheim winter day. Otherwise, I love being surprised by the special holiday treats that Disneyland offers – some of which don’t reappear (I’m still waiting for the return of Monte Cristo bites!)
Those are our favorites. Now… share yours! We’d love to hear what you have to say and share it with our readers.
