I can’t pick a single best reason to visit during the holidays – the entire experience is why you should go! It’s the happiest place on Earth PLUS extra magic, sprinkles, and snowflakes! The combination of amazing Christmas and holiday decorations/music/treats/fireworks/parade/ride overlays is simply beyond – it blows me away ever time I’m lucky enough to get to experience it.
The best reason to visit the Disneyland Resort during the holidays is to see all of the amazing decorations. The parks are completely decked out for the holidays including wreaths, garland, ornaments, Christmas Trees, fabulous window displays, and snow on Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. Not only are the decorations beautiful to look at but they also make a great backdrop for photos!
For me, the overall ambiance and decor is reason enough to not only go to Disneyland at the holidays, but to pull the kids out of school for a special day before it gets too crowded. (Not that I my kids EVER come down with the Disney Flu…) Specifically, I encourage families to spend time back at Big Thunder Ranch and walking the streets of New Orleans Square for some really lovely family photos.
The best reason to celebrate the holidays at The Disneyland Resort is getting the opportunity to immerse yourself in what Disney does best – create magic. From the smells of peppermint and vanilla on Main Street; the swatches of red, green, and white; that big beautiful Christmas tree, the treats, the decorations, and Sleeping Beauty Castle blanketed in snow – you are truly transported away from Southern California and deep into the holiday spirit – complete with snowfall, Santa, and all the merriment the season has to offer. There’s activities for everyone in the family and it’s a great time to cap off a magical year!
