This Belle costume was truly breathtaking. The satin looked as soft as butter. It was like she had walked right off the silver screen.

The D23 Expo, held earlier this month, offers Disney fans and fanatics a variety of experiences. This year, it offered a fan costume contest. Like other fan conventions, D23 welcomes fans with and without costumes and the A La Mode Costume contest celebrated some of the very best and unique costumes at the Expo from the Disney universe. All of the costumes were homemade and some them were truly breathtaking and took months to assemble. Here are some of my favorites:

Mad “it’s a small world”

The Rocketeer won in the kids’ category.

The Jack is also a Disneyland Cast Member

You just have to love Snow White.

This was one of my personal favorites and she is also a Haunted Mansion Cast Member.

This little girl’s uncle made her this Buzz Lightyear costume. It was truly remarkable.

As luck would have it, one of the contest judges was the designer of the actual dress from Enchanted. She was very impressed with the level of detail and this couple took home the best overall award.

The hatbox ghost from Haunted Mansion was another one of my favorites.
