On Friday, November 7, the Disneyland Resort announced that the holidays will be getting a little more “Frozen” this year with two special additions to the yearly yuletide entertainment lineup. (You can read an overview of what to expect Resort-wide by clicking here.)
- Anna and Elsa will be joining “A Christmas Fantasy” parade and its cast of more than 100 Disney characters and performers that includes Mickey, Minnie and a variety of other movie characters like the princesses, the Toy Story gang and many more. The parade is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and I am definitely looking forward to this year’s enhancements.
- Over at Disney California Adventure, “World of Color: Winter Dreams,” the park’s special holiday version of “World of Color,” will have event Frozen fun added to it with the addition of the songs “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” and “Love is an Open Door” to the show. You can see last year’s version of the show below if you feel like you need a kick start to get into the holiday spirit.
- Also, as I mentioned in my holiday overview post earlier this week, in the Downtown Disney District, guests will be able to take a break from their holiday shopping and dining to go skating on “Olaf’s Frozen Ice Rink.” Now for the details not in our last post: The rink opens for 60-minute skating sessions from 3 to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 3 to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. This year, the Downtown Disney Winter Village around Olaf’s Frozen Ice Rink is bigger than ever, offering shoppers holiday gift items such as “Frozen” plush toys, holiday crystal from Arribas Brothers, art works, clothing and accessories, all sold from the windows of the charming village houses. Hot chocolate from Ghirardelli along with coffee, sweets and baked goods from La Brea Bakery are also available at the Downtown Disney Winter Village.
- If you will be tuning in to ABC as usual on Christmas day, the annual Christmas celebrations from Disneyland and Walt Disney World, this year’s will be “Frozen” themed for even more “Frozen” family fun that will be sure to delight all of the boys and girls across the country who haven’t been able to experience Anna and Elsa in-person at Disneyland or Walt Disney World.
Are you unhappy with the Frozen additions to the holiday entertainment lineup? I’ve heard that there are a lot of “Frozen” haters! Click here to read why I just don’t get the “Frozen” hate.
