No one puts on a fireworks show like Disneyland. From the music to the choreography and story of the show, Disneyland’s fireworks are “Magical.” (As in the Magical fireworks being shown nightly throughout the summer…)
With the Fourth of July being tomorrow, I thought this would be the perfect day to post the top 5 places to watch fireworks inside Disneyland.
1. Central Plaza (the Hub)
Perhaps the most sought after spot for fireworks, Central Plaza (the area near the Partners Statue) is always packed with guests hoping for the best view of the fireworks. You may be surprised to know that this is not actually the most ideal spot, as some of the trees (depending upon where you are standing) can get in your way of the view, especially if you are standing on the Main Street side of Central Plaza.
Also, one of the more popular spots for fireworks, Main Street is a great spot for fireworks, especially at Christmas time when snow falls. I prefer a spot near the end of Main Street but think anywhere along the street from the Emporium to the Corn Dog Cart is pretty darn wonderful
3. “it’s a small world”
Easily forgotten by many guests, the area near “it’s a small world” is a great place to watch fireworks with all of the music one hears on Main Street with a vantage point much closer to where the fireworks are actually launched.
4. The Fantasmic! viewing area along the Rivers of America
Most guests don’t realize that they don’t have to choose Fantasmic! or the fireworks. It is possible to do both. Guests who sit for the first Fantasmic! can hang out after the show ends and catch the fireworks right from their spot along the Rivers of America–complete with the music that accompanies the show.
5. Frontierland along the Rivers of America
Though you can see the fireworks from pretty much anywhere in the park, viewing from the north west side of Frontierland allows guests to see and hear the show. Because of its proximity to the Rivers of America, Frontierland is a quiet place to experience the display of color and music without the business and congestion of Main Street or the Fantasmic! viewing section. Big Thunder Trail (the walkway between Frontierland and Fantasyland behind Big Thunder Ranch Railroad) is usually a particularly quiet viewing area. There is also a hidden pathway right in front of the Hungry Bear Restaurant in Critter Country that may be a great alternative to usual spots.
Heading to Disney California Adventure instead? Practice patriotism immediately before watching World of Color with a new seasonal pre-show that celebrates Independence Day. Be sure to grab a FastPass for the show and experience fireworks over Paradise Bay for the first time!

I never thought about that area by the Hungry Bear! I’ll have to try that one next time.
