I once figured out that I’ve spent more than 1,000 days at Disneyland in my life time. That’s a lot of time. A lot. In all that time, I’ve taken countless photos at Disneyland, many of which in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. I love how iconic it is and how beautifully it photographs. Yet even though I know full well that Disneyland is a public place, I always yearn for photos without other guests in them.
On Dapper Day I wanted a picture with my boys in front of the castle to memorialize the special day. My friend Robert (as in Mr. DAPS of DAPS Magic and much, much more), suggested we take some photos to the side of the castle. “A side view?!” That’s what I was thinking and I admit, I was skeptical. I hadn’t planned on a side view of the castle, but once we were over there (and I saw the final product) I realized that the side view is incredibly lovely and provides a more personal-feeling photograph. In fact, this is going to be my new go-to spot for family photos.
We took our photo near Snow White’s Grotto to the east side of the castle and what was even better that with a simple turn we were then able to get incredibly picturesque photos of the grotto.
A big thank you to my dear friend, Mr. Daps for taking these great pictures of me with my beautiful boys.
Also a big thank you is due to Unique Vintage for styling me in a purple vintage-inspired dress. With two stores in the LA area, a store opening March 9, 2013 in Huntington Beach, California and an online store with more fabulous fashion finds than you can shake a hanger at, anyone can get their “dapper on” for the next Dapper Day!
